September sleevers?!?!

Recommended Posts

Sept. 17th was my surgery. Almost off liquids, 1st post-op visit Oct. 2nd. Feeling great, better than I have in a long time. Not really that hungry, in fact I have to make myself eat. My surgeon doesn't do the Protein thing until starting pureed food so I've just been focusing on getting my fluids in. I'll have to step my game when starting pureed and solids. I think that's when it gets hard. Down almost 15 lbs. since surgery and couldn't be happier!

Lory,

I had to ask for a tablet pain med that I could crush (liquid made me vomit) I hide it in a tiny teaspoon of Greek yogurt. ( I know it's not clear but figured it is better than dry heaving my guys out) I'd also recommend gas x strips? Lots of walking, and a heating pad or microwaveable PEAS from The drug store. I put the hot PEAS pouch where I had gas and it helped. Good luck and I hope for some relief for you soon.

Thank you, I do have the GasX strips. I was able to get down the medicine two additional times without vomiting. If I stay on the pain killer it takes away the radiating pains that seem to be coming from my stomach. I just got down 1/2 cup of lime Jello. I'm going to try the heat.....thank you!

I just got my date today Sept. 24th. Looking for a buddy in Worcester' date=' MA area. I am not from around here only been in MA 2 1/2 years. I am excited and nervious all in one.[/quote']

Just checking in to see how you are doing. I live in the Boston area- not to far from Worcester. I was sleeved on the 23rd. The first week was horrendous. Since Sunday things have gotten much easier and feeling more optimistic. I am no longer on the pain meds, just liquid tylenol. Protein has been hard, but getting my liquids in.

Hang in there. It does get better!

J

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
