Hey y'all, I was the same on the pre-op diet! I was STARVING to death! Told my hubs I was thinking about backing out of surgery just so I could go eat! I went on the 17th, did the surgery, and woke up with a completely different attitude about food! I wasn't hungry anymore and food didn't have the hold on me that it used to! I would lay in the hospital watching pizza commercials and be like whatever ... they didn't bother me at all! Just hang in there you guys! The hunger will be gone!!! I'm only 3 days out and surgery wasn't nearly as bad as I expected!

My tummy does growl..I do feel physical hunger but its going to be trial and error till I figure out what's its like to feel full and what's content.

Wow! Its crazy how it can affect everyone so differently. I don't feel hungry at all. But after I sleep and wake up I can tell that I'm empty. But my 1oz Fluid cup handles that!

This gives me hope. It is so hard and I have 3 more days. I am only on a liquid diet the day before the operation, but if I gain any weight they will not operate. I had to reach a goal weight and I am fluctuating some much that I am getting nervous. :(

The pre-op diet wasn't so bad. When I was on the liquid diet, I thought I was going to die. I cried a lot! But at the same time it just reminded me of why I needee this surgery. Its crazy to think that I could get so upset just because of food. :( All of that is different now and I am so glad. Once I heal up and can start exercising, I think I will finally be able to lose weight!

My pre-op diet is a full liquid diet for 2 weeks prior...one more week to go...I've caved and cheated a few times, but was never anything too bad for me. I had an egg and egg whites the other day for dinner I was just soo hungry. I'm still down 16.5 lbs in 20 days so I shouldn't complain too much

Hang in there. The first 4 days were the hardest. I'm doing a little better now. I had to mourn the loss so food and caffeine. I decided after my few days of being depressed to pull myself together and start being creative. Make some fun out of it. I'm experimenting. I tried one shake and gagged. Another was pretty good.

I also realized I've been wanting to do this for years. I'm tired of being fat, unhealthy, and on 10 medicines due to being overweight. I want to live a long full life.

We are in control and we an eat, but we can also be in control of our lives now. I wish you the best. You deserve it!!!

I lucked out with the surgeon change. I went a week no food and when they had to change surgeons (my surgeon was admitted to the hospital) the new one had a less restrictive diet. So I was able to eat a chicken breast or fish once a day with green vegetables. Only done it a few times since I got the ok.

I was sleeved on September 10. My first week was hard cause I wasn't really getting a lot down, because I was scared I was going to over drink or eat. I had the worst case of gas for the first week and could barely move,I was trying everything and nothing seemed to work. As of the last couple days I've been doing better and eating and drinking more so it does get easier as time go by.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
