Excited to be posting in the post op thread...

I know this is a stupid question, but I just started purées, and am having some difficulty telling when I start to feel full. Ay thoughts?

You'll learn your own signals. Basically "feeling full" does not happen till about 20 minutes into the meal (hence the 'eat slow' admonition!). And it's that 'no, I can't eat another bite', kinda feeling.

Some of us have some strange signals (and I am NOT making this up).

Some have little burps, some sneeze, some hiccup, and some get a runny nose (all related to the vagus nerve). Me, I get burps, hiccup or get a runny nose -- a barrel of laughs...

I get hiccups and burps. I try and measure (visually) my food volume and don't give myself more than I really can eat. 5 ounces if meat or protien of choice and then if still not "full" I will have some veggies or salad. Funny how by the time I get the veggies on my plate I can't eat them for being full.

I get a "one more bite might be too much" feeling and I usually hiccup.

I just would feel a sensation of pressure in my chest at that stage. Also burping if I ate too much. Go slow and pay attention to your body's signals. Also, you are still healing and somewhat numb so the sensation may be quite subtle and will evolve as you continue your healing process.

I didn't get the full feeling until I was allowed regular food. For me, one loud quick hiccup and that's my signal that I'm full.

I also have the burp thing but I think that is induced myself, I also feel pain as if I swollowed a rock. right at the back of my spine,

Initially I could only eat about 1 oz but now about double or more, but when I feel pain or discomfort I just stop irrespective of how much is still on my plate, Strage I can consume 4oz of Fluid in about 20 mins without a problem.

Im only 1 month out and did also feel I would starve due to the severve restriciton initially in the first 2 weeks. Had great weight loss then and have now lost about 15kg in a month,

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
