How do you know when your full

Recommended Posts

So this feels like a stupid question to me because everybody says you will know when your full but I feel like Im full when I start eating so I dont get it. I ate maybe 1/4 a can of cream of celery Soup tonight. I misread my directions so I did not add any liquid and I stopped eating it when I just didnt really want to eat anymore. I didnt want to eat it from the beginning though so Im not sure if that was the right time to stop. After every spoon I had to burp, but I never felt pain or discomfort, I didnt sneeze, hiccup, and my nose didnt run. I dont want to eat until I am uncomfortable but I guess since speaking to the nutritionist I want to make sure Im getting enough in.

Most of the time I sneeze and my nose runs only after a couple of bites so I know I am not full.....You will get to know where the top of your sleeve is because if you over due it it will feel like it is stuck in your throat.....It is an uncomfortable feeling to say the least...I would rather eat less so that I don't get that feeling......

10 months out I now know how much I can eat without measuring everything.....It will become an old hat as you get farther along!

I start burping. Lol. I know when I start burping and feeling a bit uncomfortable I have hit my limit. I had a rough bout of nausea for the first two to three weeks after surgery so I refuse to eat more after I get that feeling. I do not want to get sick!!

You're still on liquids right? So are my husband and I and we don't have any of the signs I read about here. I suspect those may only come on with solids, not sure. We measure our Soups and shakes and make sure to slowly sip at one 4 oz cup the first week and now an 8 oz cup at a time. When it's gone, we're done with that meal. Simple as that for now.

Omg SO much better! I upped my calories by 100-150, and I increased my carbs by just 10-15 gms. Basically added 1/4 c of Beans puréed into a Soup, and a small packet of applesauce. The difference is night and day. Thanks so much for asking!

yes you dont feel it yet, but when you add more solid Protein, it will become really clear. the pain is bad if you go too far, and it can change from one meal to another so just take it slow, and no liquids after you eat, even a simple swallow of Water will push it over and out lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
