So I'm going on a plane on Friday and didn't even consider if I couldn't!

My question is ... Is it ok to start flying at 3 and a 1/2 months out from surgery?

The reason I ask is when I had the lapband I struggled flying and couldn't eat for at least 5 days and could only intake liquid due to swelling.

Anyone's experiences and thoughts are most welcome :)

That is definitely one thing I can't wait to try out and I'm sure the person next to me will be happy too now that I will only be in my seat!

I have a flight on the 28th and I will be 8 weeks out at that point. My mentor from support group said she flew for 3 hours to Florida when she was 3 weeks out and felt fine. I will seek comfort in not having to sweat out getting the belt on so I dont have to use the "extra" belt.

Travel safely and feel good.

I travel a lot as part of my job and asked the surgeon when it was safe to fly again, and he said immediately. He reminded me that many of his patients flew back home right after the surgery and that it was no problem. Have fun!

I am 5 1/2 months out and have been on 4 trips since. It's been no problem whatsoever except you may want to try and get an isle seat. I drink so much Water I have to pee every hour! I always buy at least 2 bottles of Water for the plane.

Just returned home 2 days ago, it was a big moment when I realized I was sitting with my legs crossed with the tray table down!

Safe travels!

Originally I was going to travel from London to Prague for my surgery and fly home one week later which was considered safe by the surgeons. Thankfully I inherited enough money to be able to have the surgery in London as I felt so rough in the first 5 days I'm not sure I'd have coped in hotel.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
