That's awesome. GE and Motorola put 6-Sigma on the map. I should become an MBB by the end of this year. 6-Sigma truly makes you look at everything in life in a different matter. I went as far as incorporating 6-Sigma to improve my golf swing. I used control charts to help me identify unstable performance in my golf scores' date=' scores per hole for 2 years. I created check sheets to determine where my drives went, (left, center, or right). I even went as far as documenting a fish bone for my putting and drives. I went from shooting in the 100's to shooting in the upper 80's. With Lean now being a major part of 6-Sigma, I've also been incorporating Lean concepts in my everyday life, getting ride of waste making my personal time more efficient everyday and incorporating 5S in my garage has made wonders!![/quote']

I have made it a requirement that all of my directs at the VP level go through Six Sigma and get at least a Green Belt. I find that it has greatly improved efficiencies in my division. I work for a financial firm in the fortune 40 and the company has really adopted the principles. I use it for most things in my professional and personal, which as I said previously sometimes drive my wife insane. She is an analytical minded person but draws the line at somethings.

Maybe I need to use the methodology to improve my tennis game. Good luck on getting your MBB and on your journey.

Sadly, I'm unemployed. Gladly, it started right before my surgery, so I've had some nice time off during recovery.

But usually I'm an editor/website manager. And a jewelry designer (the hobby that took over more than 40 hours a week of my life! ;))

I looked up your website. Your jewelry is beautiful. I particularly like your Dogwood and Magnolia designs.

I'm a professional tattoo artist in Southern California.

That has to be interesting to do.

I've always wanted a tattoo, but never have been able to decide what or where to put it.

We tried to implement six sigma in an advertising agency. Biggest. Disaster. Ever. :)

Many, many, many companies struggle during initial implementation, but if you hire or contract a Lean Six Sigma professional to develop a structured approach to implementation it should work.

1. Hire or contract a professional Black Belt or Master Black Belt to be in charge of the implementation of LSS

2. BB or MBB would Define an approach to implement

3. Launch Lean 6-Sigma training to train the masses - Some BB an MBB are certified trainers. (I'm certified to instruct Green Belt and Black Belt) classes

a. Introduction to Lean 6-Sigma

b. Green Belt certification programs

c. Black Belt certification programs

d. Introduction to Lean

4. Need buy-in from top management to get support from and most importantly buy-in from the masses

This should make implementing Lean Six Sigma successful.

When I was hired, I initially had to hire a contractor, but eventually the team members I have hired, trained, and mentored came over with me. Senior Management was skeptical at first but we won them over by successfully implementing Lean SS in our IT group, then moved onto investments, and then into different LOBs. I am a certified trainer but don't have he time to run a division and train, so I got of my team certified, who in turn trained others in several other LOBs. I told my fellow Managing Directors that they have to be responsible for their own groups and reach out to our Productivity group for help with their respective Lean training needs. Right now that group is fully staffed until another company poaches some more of our MBBs.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll find no lack of work with your skill set.

Good grief; that just sounds so soul-less. All about the bottom line. (Sorry. I'm a social worker. More of a people person, I guess)

My wife is a former social worker and sometimes doesn't understand how I thrive in that environment. However, the money makes it worth

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
