Tann that sounds like a great idea. Everyones band restricts diffrently at diffrent times. If that makes you feel more comfortable go for it. You are doing a great job. What is your family having to say about you new look? Have you done any shopping yet?
Everyone that I know not just the family are saying how great I look and what a wonderful job I'm doing. I've had about 8 people to tell me that I am their inspiration, that's really hard for me to believe sometimes. This is truly a new experiance that I never even thought about happening. One young lady at Church said she did not know who I was from behind, and she actually started crying:think She really touched my heart:cry Everyday someone talks to me about my weight and new look. It's my coworkers, supervisors, friends, family, Church friends, I'm telling you everyone. The funny part is that I still weigh 288 what's gonna happen when I reach 200:omg: Sometimes I would like to talk about other issues with people like I use to but the main topic is my weightloss, and by the time we finish that subject either I have to go or them:tired Anywayz it's all good. I have been buying some new clothes just a few pieces here and there that is on clearance. Just wait your time is just around the corner;) But I'm sure you have already been getting it cuz you're lost almost a 100.

Ok everyone. I've been hiding from you all because I'm incredibly depressed. I've been having a hard time with my marriage recently and just find that I want to isolate myself from everyone and everything. I had lost down to 353 and now I'm back to 357 and very disappointed in myself. I've been doing Water aerobics and started doing a fitness ball routine that lasts an hour (I could hardly walk for 2 days after doing it the first time) but I'm still eating very bad things. Last night I came home and ate potatoe chips and dip, then sugar wafer Cookies, then a hershey bar. I am hating myself and I feel like I don't deserve to be here among the rest of you. You're all amazing. I'm so sorry.

Josette: Hang in there! Stress is a diet killer. Instead of worrying (too much) about your diet, try and think of ways to de-stress and simplify your life. Way to go with the exercise. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you are doing right. Keep in touch. Everyone deserves to get support and be on this website! I wish you the best.

Awwh Josette:think I'm really sad that you are depressed and about your marriage, I will say a prayer for you. It's hard to stay focus on your eating when you're depressed, but I do know that eating junk and gaining weight makes you even more depressed is what I have experianced.

That stuff you ate last nite is comfort foods, force yourself to eata good portion of Protein first, and if you still have cravings for the junk eat salsa with Pork rinds, or sf fudgepops, or a bowl of Special K. I have a sweet tooth at this very moment with all this V-day candy bag someone has put on my desk, I put it out of my site. I made myself some tea with equal. I feel much better now, I think that will be your key to eating comfort foods, try to find an alternative food choice. Its all in one step at a time to get back on track. My Mother almost died a few months ago, and I really had to focus to stay on track. I did eat some comfort foods, but was like once a week. Stay around to get love and support.

Niecyrenee that quick workout is great isn't it. Keep it up. Good luck with the scale.

I wish I could say the scale has been nice to me but alas, it has not. According to my scale, I have gained about 6 lbs. since this weekend! I assume it is Water retention or something like that but it is depressing. I haven't been eating as much and have kicked up my exercise so I wonder if that can be part of it? Any ideas? I am trying to not focus on it. I will remain positive! I am trying to beat that into my head. What a day to be down in the dumps. :think

Tann that is wonderful I can't wait to see those pics.....if I'm ivited. Get yourself a camera and just take pics once a month and get it developed later. Then you will even be surprised and it will be a great motivator. LOL

Niecyrenee you are doing terrific. 3 months and 68 pounds gone. That is something to smile about. It all takes time and remember the inches and pounds trade off and come off so try not to stress. Stress will make us eat. Our body weight fluctuates and plateaus so it is the norm, we all know it. Just be happy and as you said remain positive and focus on the future.

Josette- (((HUGGGSSS))))) to go with the PM. I didn't want you guys to think I was overlooking my friend.

Jossette, keep your chin and your hopes up!!! I know that marriages can cause alot of ups and downs emotionally and weight wise...A rocky marriage can just keep you mentally unbalanced and unsure on whats going to happen for months..I hope that everything turns out exactly the way that you want it to..I wouldnt be too worried about my weight loss right now and try to fully consentrate on working on the marriage (I know I shouldnt say that)..But I do commend you on everything that you have been still able to do during this hard time in your life (you have more will power than I would)

Niecyrenee, There are going to be alot of ups and downs on those dang scales...I get so depresssed and physically ill when I step on mine...You will do great!! It could be anything that could be making you gain a few pounds..Just watch, this time next week it will be gone...

tann, I want to know who these evil people are putting candy infront of everyone this time of year...My son and my husband both brought home the heart shapped candy boxes for me and they know how hard I have been trying to be good..Oh well, You just gotta love em and dont think I could make it without them both!!

Teresita...Cant leave you out of course...Love ya GIRL!!!!!!!!!

My check in for today:

20 oz orange water

8 oz whey(breakfast)

chopped turkey, creamed spinach, cole slaw and 4 green Beans all crammed into a 5 oz container(lunch)

60 oz water

20 oz green tea

medium size grilled chicken salad(dinner)

and I have to confess my sins...I have been craving tortilla soup...And thats just really strange for me cuz I have never in my life had it before..So I found a real easy recipe and bought the stuff on my way home today and made a batch for my lunches for the rest of the week...and yes, I grabbed about 1/2 a cup to test it out and it was wonderful to me

2 cans of the low fat cream of chicken soup

1 can of enchilada sauce

2 cups of skim milk

1 package of the pre cooked chicken southwestern style

1 cup motzerella cheese

put it all in a pot and let the cheese melt and when its done put it in a bowl and crunch a couple tortilla chips on top...OMG, it was wonderful...oh and I put 1 spoon of lite sour cream on top...OMG OMG OMG...I want more

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
