My two week pre-op diet starts now, 1,000 calories a day for the next two weeks. I hope having done a 99 hour Water only fast and a five day juice fast in the past will remind me that this is possible. Surgery is scheduled for August 12th and I so look forward to having the life back that I once enjoyed. I've been reading your stories for a few months and I find you all inspirational, in your successes and your struggles. Blessings to all of you.

Good luck to you! 1000 calories? I can work with that! I would think bulk (pre op of course) lots of salad and veggies. My favorite go to roasted chicken on a big bed of salad :)

Just think about what you CAN have, not what you cant.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.

Thank everyone for the words of encouragement. Canada...I have not heard any indication that Water intake for the pre-op diet is regulated. A more experienced member may be able to provide guidance. Best wishes.

I didn't find the pre-op liquid diet difficult. I did 11 days full liquid and for the last 3 days it's Clear Liquids for me. I tried to drink 64 oz of Water in addition to the shakes, popsicles, Jello and broth. Good luck with your surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
