Tell me what salad dressing you tried and like as well as the shakes. I have a fat free balsamic that I tried by naturally fresh.

I like Walden Farms for calorie free. But I've also made my own with red wine vinegar, sauteed garlic, dash of salt & pepper and 2 teaspoons of miracle whip..

Yummy

The dressings are by Walden Farms. They are fat, carbohydrate, calorie, gluten, sugar, cholesterol, any and everything free- so the label says.

They also have many other items like chocolate Syrup and Pasta sauce. I was going to purchase them on Amazon but I found them in the grocery store.

Yep love Walden Farms..we were once best friends when I did Atkins..lol

Oops Davalrie, forgot the shakes.

I have been using a few- Unjury has been okay- not as much of an aftertaste as others. I love love love the caramel Atkins shakes. I have to go buy some more today. The Premier shakes are ok and I have been mixing them with about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of coffee every morning. I have been doing my diet since Sunday and lost 9lbs in 3 days. I'm sure it will slow down, but definitely off to a good start. I have some other things coming in the mail. My surgeon has his own line of shakes himself that I'll be using when they come in the mail. I asked my. NUT about the Isopure carb free beverages from GNC and she said they were ok too. My favorite so far is the grape flavor with a packet of lemonade crystal light (the real CL. I got the Walmart brand and it was not so good). I still have some experimenting to do with the Isopures and the Jello too. I have so much to do and I only have today and next Tuesday off before my surgery. I need to get off of here and go do my errands!

They are good but man- the chipotle ranch is sooo spicy! It's cool but definitely has some kick! So does the Ceasar.

I am scheduled for October 8th. I have pushed this off 3x to make sure that this is what I really want to do. Family & friends have mixed feelings but ultimately, its me. I've been big my entire life. God is transforming me spiritually & mentally. The surgery is the physical part of my transformation. Just like anything else when dealing with God, I'm walking out on faith. I'm new to this forum so let me know how it goes for you.

I am OFFICIALLY an October sleever! Just found out this a.m., kind of by accident. My surgeon's office was supposed to submit the paperwork to my insurance (Anthem BC) yesterday. I called my insurance this morning just to verify the paperwork had been sent. Much to my extreme amazement I was told it was received AND APPROVED 9/25. The lady then proceeded to tell me I am approved for a one night stay 10/21-10/22. ( I questioned..That is standard she said. Get approval for one night then add to it as needed.) Then I realized she just gave me my surgery date, even before I heard it from my surgeon's office!!!! I am so freaking happy it isn't funny!

My diet for 2 weeks is 3 shakes, SF Jello and SF Popsicles for Snacks, and unlimited leafy greens with calorie free dressing. I can also have a minestrone Soup once a day.

Mine too! And I am having such a hard time with it. I feel like I forget to eat. Ugh, some days I feel so low on energy because of it. I have a hard time eating greens all day long. I make sure I get at least 2 Protein Shakes a day in, sometimes half a can of soup, a little jello. In one of my Protein shakes I put spinach in, and I eat celery during the day. But other than that it is hard to eat much else. How are you doing on it?

Me too. I've been able to get at least 2 shakes in and one nice sized salad with either kale or broccoli. I'm working so I don't have the time to eat all day long and don't want to drink a shake too close to bedtime because I've getting up repeatedly all night to pee! I'm doing well though. I've lost 11.5 lbs since Sunday. My first headache today but it's not a bad one. I'm not one for taking pills so I've just dealt with it.

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
