Tomorrow is my big day!!!! I find out today what time I have to be there. I am nervous, happy, and anxious all in one. I started clear liquids yesterday and lost 1 pound. So here are my stats so far.

5'8" tall 50 years old

Heaviest was 347lbs

Pre liquids 319lbs

And I will update the rest after surgery. I want to Thank each of you that have already had the surgery for all the advice you have given us newbies.

relax today and go run your errands....do not worry everything will be fine. I slept like a baby the night before. Remember to take gas x strips with you to hospital. Also ask for acohol pads. Keep them close when you feel nauseated open and run under your nose. Good luck tomorrow

Im on full liquids and I can have small stuff like sugarfree pudding. Im not having any issues except I think im eating more at one time than I should. I can eat a whole pudding cup. Thats a 1/2 cup. I know my stomach is very small, but I dont feel full. Also im having a hard time knowing when im full. So today I decided to just steer clear of the pudding and thicker stuff. Not sure what to do.

Per my nut...anywhere between 2 and 4 oz a time is where we should be at this point, I also am eating a whole pudding cup with a scoop of protein added so thats apx 30 gr of protein. I like to get the choc pudding and add the vanilla protein...good luck to you!

My problem is I'm definitely not eating or drinking enough. Silver lining is I'm losing weight very quickly but of course it's not the right way.

Thank you so much. I thought maybe I was over doing it.

Im not getting enough calories in...I am getting atleast 60g protein amd usually about 400 calories.

It went perfect, I was up and walking with out any help The one thing that amazed me was I wasnt in near as much pain as I thought I would be I know I had the pump and I did use it but I still thought it would be more painful. While in hospital i didnt eat or drink hardly anything at all. been home 4 days now still not where i need to be as liquids go but I will get there, ive noticed i seem to be increasing by about 8 oz a day so today im shooting for 48 oz i get all my protein within my first 32 oz to make sure i get it all in. I get my tube out on Tuesday and by the way you will or at least I did gain weight due to all the fluids they pump in you I gained 11 pounds while there. ..Good Luck To You!!

Thanks for sharing! I hope I don't gain 11 lbs., but at least we both know huge weight-loss is right around the corner. :-) YAYYY! For us! We are taking care of us!!!

That's the first I've heard this. I met with my nutritionist last week and she instructed me to get at least 60g's of protein daily. I'm on clear only day 1 and 2 of surgery. From all the research I've done....and it's been extensive....protein is critical for the right kind of weight loss. 60G is still small in comparison to what the Mayo clinic suggests to lose and maintain healthy weight loss. He may have a reason. I would ask him why? Doctors are not Gods. That's why they call it a practice. The more they do the more they learn. The scary part is it's our health on the line. I always research everything because doctors, nurses, and nutritionists are not always right or do they have the best information. I wish you the best health possible.
