Good luck! No lying, most of the pre-op diets suck..but surgery day will be here before you know it! Stay hydrated and see if you are allowed a Protein Shake or something with Protein to help ward off any potential headaches.

I agree. The diet stinks and I lived in the bathroom today. One day down and six to go.

I was told to do 7 days, but decided to do 14 days of liquids. I started yesterday also. So far, no headache, no hunger and down 3.4 pounds, overnight. Haven't given up caffeine yet and not looking forward to the withdrawal. I'll fight that battle next week.

Yes, the headaches are the worst.

I'm sorry...I had them, too. :( Remember to ask your doctor what you can take. I was advised no ibuprofen, only Tylenol in the days leading up to surgery.

Thanks! I was told Tylenol, but it sure doesn't work as well as a Goody's powder. :). Hopefully it will pass soon.

I started my pre-op diet today, too! Crystal Light, Atkins Advantage bars, hard-boiled egg and Protein Shakes and lots of bathroom visits. Was pretty hungry around 5:00pm. Thinking I'm OK now.. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
