Why can I eat so much!?

Recommended Posts

I'm about 8 wks post op and have been doing really good... I think? I'm down 42lbs since day 1 preop, but have stalled and gained a few pounds back... I feel like I'm able to eat way more/bigger portions already... not intentionally, but lunch today I had a (what I think was a BIG) salad, and yesterday I ate two large lettuce wraps stuffed with chicken, etc.... I'm worried if I'm eating too much and that's what's leading to my weight gain....?? Should I still be trying to stick to 600-800 cals a day? I am desperate to reach my goal... Please help!!

Are you eating til you're full to the gills, or just til you're satisfied?

At 8 weeks I was eating 900 cal and now at 4mo out I eat 1000-1200 depending on day. I am still losing not quickly like did at first but slowly. I was at 900-1000 in month 3 and noticed I slowed down so went up a 100 and started again. You have to listen to your body and be active.

Like you I am 4 months out or as I say 16 weeks and I average about 1000 - 1200 a day and I lose about 2 pounds week. I never lost that hunger feeling. So I eat small meals every 4 hours just to keep hunger pains at bay.

I'm the same around 2lbs a week and still battle with food and can eat everything and anything. Hardest part is changing how you think.

Yeah, it was easier when I was very strict for the pre op and post op diets... now I feel like its a free-for-all and I'm going back to my old ways... maybe I should try every other day fasting or something just for discipline....some way to get back on track....

I say eat what your body tells you is okay but just make sure to follow your calorie and Protein guidelines.

I was eating 1000 calories by 1 month out an now at 3 months I usually hit about 1200. I'm still losing 2-3 lbs a week which is what I want. I also workout a lot.

Some days (like today) I eat less. Just randomly. I was busy all day an didn't remember to eat dinner till like 11PM (bad I know!) but that's very rare for me.

If your stomach feels good eating that big salad, then eat it. Stop when you feel satisfied. This sleeve is all about living a normal life.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
