Glad you are doing ok thanks for updating. Keep us posted!

thanks thanks will do :)

Puked blood? Why? Is that something that might happen to me?

it was mostly muscous and a little dark blood from the sutures. they said it was normal but some people didn't throw up at all.

So I'm 4 days sleeved. I had it Monday and finally came home last night. It was rough. I had to spend 2 nights because I wouldn't do my Protein. I just felt like I couldn't. I felt upset and down and second thoughts really filled my mind. Finally yesterday I pulled myself together and made it work. Now I'm doing my protein and Water every hour like I was told. It still isn't easy but I'm doing it. I defiantly had some "buyers remorse" after the surgery, Tuesday was my worst day. But I'm better now. I would say 75%. Hurts to cough. But I'm trying to keep walking and be positive, and most importantly do my protein. Hope everyone else is healing and feeling good.

I was sleeved Monday also, I came home yesterday. I had problems drinking the potassium, it made my severe gas pains worst. I am glad to be home but I did not take in enough Protein or Water which my doctor had me start at home last nigh. My right side is giving me the most pain. It does not help I started my cycle yesterday and now I have a head cold. My mother is disabled so I am using her walker to get some exercise. I wish I was like the other people who posted very little pain or just discomfort. Lol

I too had my surgery Monday. I went home Tuesday night. I am still sore, coughing up mucas (not fun), and trying to get in the protien and Water, Finding it's not that easy! I really can't tolerate more than 2-3 T of anything.

Dissapointed to find I gained in the hospital, must be all the fluids pumped into me.

Every day it's easier to get up and down..that's when I still have the most pain.

I had my surgery on Monday. It was a little rough going at first, but I was able to go home on Tuesday night.

I'm sore and still taking pain meds every 4 hours. I'm having trouble getting all my Water and Protein in. My surgeon's office told me to keep working at it.

I have no regrets on having the surgery. I know I just have to get through this tough part. I think it will help to get my drain removed on Saturday. Home health care is going to do that.

We can do this guys.

I'm on day 3 post op. (surgery on Monday) I've been coughing up mucous as well, clearing out my lungs. It does hurt to cough but I want that junk out of there. My surgery went well and my recovery has been decent so far. I have one incision that's killing me but the others are fine. Today my goal is 40 oz Protein and at least 36 oz Water. I'm having trouble sleeping but everything else seems to be on track. We'll see if with the extra waking hours I can reach my goals! Good luck to everyone at this early post-op stage, it only gets better :)

On the pre op diet I was supposed yo have three shakes a day, and one 500 calorie meal daily. I was able to lose 24lbs prior to surgery. My meals were 4oz lean protien, 2T veggies, 2Tfruit, milk and a carb. Hope that helps.

Hi Forward- Wouldn't necessarily label it as "normal" or "abnormal". There could be several variables. ( Is the scale you're using reliable? Are you retaining fluids for some reason? Have you moved your bowels? Are you wearing heavy clothes when you weigh? Is it possible that you're not getting the minimum in and you're in starvation mode?)

When is your 1st post op appointment? Wait until you get on the Surgeon's scale before you worry.

No...you should be fine. Everyone's body reacts differently. My docs said not to get on the scale for a while bc your body needs to adjust. Also, after surgery a lot of ppl gained weight from all of the fluids. Everything needs to balance out. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
