Good morning,

I was sleeved in Dec. 2012. What I did was had a large glass (with a lid) of Water on my desk. I tried to finish one glass between 8:40 am and recess, recess to lunch, and then another one from 1-3 pm. My students got behind me too and noticed when I didn't finish my water. It was difficult on the days that I had a lot of talking to do, or the kids needed extra support. I .am fortunate that the staff washroom was 25 feet away from my class so I can make a quick trip when needed. I added Mio (the squirt bottle flavouring) and that made it taste better after it sat for a bit. For the Protein, I used Bio X Protein Bars. 32 gr per bar. I ate 1/2 of it at recess and half after school. I had tuna or chicken, or an egg at lunch and my regular Breakfast and dinner. I was more successful at school with my eating program than I am at home on summer holidays.

It's all about planning.

I hope all goes well with you. So far I have lost the weight of one of my grade 6 students. When I told them this, they thought it was really funny.

I found it easier to follow my post-op diet while I was in school. It's been harder to stay on track this summer!

Before school each day I had a bowl of sugar-free oatmeal. I carried 16 oz. of chicken broth to work and tried to finish that by 9:00. Then I had a Quest Protein bar for a morning snack. During the school day I would drink a 20 oz. bottle of LifeWater. lunch was usually 4 oz. of chicken and some edamame crackers. sugar-free Jell-o with sugar-free Cool Whip was my afternoon snack. I also brought along cottage cheese in case I was hungry for something. I also kept some sugar-free popsicles in the teachers' lounge freezer.

The rest of the day I would eat and drink enough to meet my goals.

Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
