Hang in there. Make sure you get your liquids in, your Protein, and any Vitamin regimen your doc prescribed. I had Hair loss for a little bit but I stayed the course and it was short lived. Good luck!

Have you tried the Isopure drinks, not the shakes? I also noticed taking Biotin and Omega fish oils help also along with getting Protein in. good luck!

I've been taking Biotin and zinc along with my Vitamins and supplements hoping to avoid any hair loss. My nails are growing like crazy so I hope this works.

But the Protein is key. Try as hard as you can to get it in. I figured since I wear my hair short if I lose any I'll just get it cut shorter than usual LOL

All the best to you!

EVERYONE that has this surgery will LOSE HAIR....... NOT all of it.. YOU will think OMG I am losing all my hair. YOU are NOT.... it is the shock to your body and what it has been thru, I had been in menopause for over a year, and after surgery started having periods again! It is OUR BODIES way of fighting back.. EXPECT it, DON"T DWELL on it, and move on. DO NOT try ALL the miracle creams and shampoo's. It will stop after your body has adjusted.

AsImlooznit speaks the truth... The Hair loss is a side effect of surgery not lack of Protein, Biotin etc. If it is going to happen, it will. As it starts to re grow, that's when biotin etc might help and Nioxin and similar will certainly make ur hair look thicker. But if its going to happen, it will. But as with everything else sleeve, this too will pass!!

I get all my Protein every day, take all my Vitamins plus 5,000 Biotin. I get all my liquids. At about 3 months the hair started coming out little by little. My surgeon said with the sleeve it isn't supposed to fall out, but my other friends with sleeve and RNY have all had it fall out to some degree. It is a result of trauma, but will be worse if you don't get protein in. You must find a way, there are many different types and you have to keep trying until you find some you can stomach. You might need to stay away from whey and use vegetable protein. Plant fusion (Vitamin Shoppe) or Nitro Fusion (GNC) are two good non-whey protein sources.

I started losing my hair about a month post op, it felt like I was losing so much I even clogged my shower drain from all my hair falling off in the shower, it does get better though, I noticed it kind of slow down at 5 months out, I'm now 8 months post op and I'm finally getting regrowth, I can see little baby hairs all over my head lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
