"Stranger Here" by Jen Larsen

I have read this one, I really enjoyed it. It gave a really great perspective on the emotional/mental parts of surgery.

Hi Macy6,

At the end of "Stranger Here", did you cry out in frustration, "what happened to Ben???", like I did?

No because I read the epilogue and she is with a woman now

Really? That's interesting. I missed that. I'll have to re-read that section. Another sleever and I were discussing the book and had the same question. Thanks.

Great topic! I hadn't considered there would be books on the subject, but I'll be downloading several of these right away.

I'm so sorry I'm just now catching up on this thread! Everyone's suggestions are SO wonderful, can't thank you all enough!

I don't know how to "sticky" a thread...if someone tells me how (if I need to be the one to do it) I'm happy to!

Ohh sticky it would be good!!!

I don't know how to do it- guess an admin would need to be asked to do that so it won't get lost!!

I also think that only an admin can sticky a topic...maybe our plea will be heard ^_^

I was actually wondering if we could start a forum called "WLS Book Club." Then each WLS book a could be its own thread and those of us that had read the book could discuss.

Wonder how we do that?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
