Funny...Is that like the different Chinese New Years? Year of the Dog, Snake, Vomit? I missed that one on the placemat at my last Chinese Buffet.

What pre-op diet? Sorry, I was talking with my mouth full...

It's really hard and well...it's really hard. Enough said.

I'm looking forward to the trip to TO tho. I hope to go to the Science Cntr and Royal Ontario Museum. If I'm not in too much pain. Cool, the museum on Codeine, maybe I'll go to a laser light show or perhaps wander the streets in my housecoat and fluffy slippers. Watch for me on the news. "Chubby tourist resists arrest and refuses to return shopping cart to local grocer. When asked about the cart she promptly corrected reporters and asked that they call it 'HER SWEET RIDE'!"

coleenat.jpg My last encounter with the law.

And I suggest you shutta your moutha, Argon! Or you may see your ticker creeping the other direction. Oohh..she didn't? But, oohh...she did!

'The year of the vomit'

Ha, Ha, I like that!!...........not really

I find my PBing goes in stages. I wont PB for months, then 2-3 in a row. Hence, I do believe that the irratation thing is true. If you irratate your band, the more tightness, heartburn and PBing goes on, and its like chasing your tail til you give it a rest for a day or so.

I didn't PB for the first 3 and one half months. Since I have been banded - Sept 7, 2006 - I have PB-ed twice.

what the heck is a pb???????

Basically throwing up.

If you eat too fast or don't chew enough, and food gets stuck in the band and cant go down, well...........it comes up. Thats the long and short of it. It's sometimes is accompanied by pain(when it is stuck), then a huge relief, and is usually accompanied with large amounts of slime.

I'm not trying to scare you, honestly. It's not that bad. Everyone will do it eventually........except maybe Irishmist(hey Maria, are you still a PB virgin?).

Basically it's throwing up.

Hope that helps.

Yes Cloe i am still a PB virgin, i hope for a long time. Although since my second fill i find i have to be more vigilant with my chewing, specially when i am eating salmon, i had some the other night for dinner and it got stuck, it was quite painfull but lucky for me i didn't PB.

Maria :(

what the heck is a pb???????

In the interest of supporting my tendency to be "retentive," I would also add that some bandsters seem to insist that PBing is not "exactly" like vomiting. Vomiting comes from the stomach, whereas a PB ("productive burp") is more of a rebound of food that does not make it past the band to get to the stomach in the first place.

But then, what do I know. I'm still on the outside, looking in, dreaming of someday becoming part of the "In"(amed) Crowd (Surgery date 1/16).

aaahhhh *remembering the days I was a PB virgin*.....

Really though, it hasn't happened that often to me so I'm fortunate. But when it has happened....Oooooooooooooo migawd...the PAIN!!! (thankfully short lived in my case!).

:)

Well, I'm familiar with Pb and it isn't vomit - it is productive burbing and I hope if you're a PB virgin it stays that way for you.

Have a great day!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
