You are NOT alone. Since September, when I had a complete unfill due to being too tight and irritated, I've put on almost 20 lbs. :bananapartyhat: After Thanksgiving I just let all restraint go completely out the window, figuring my fill on December 14 would rein me in. But I seem to have forgotten that my fills take a couple of weeks to kick in, so I was surprised to be unrestrained over Christmas as well.

This morning I got on the scale and was not pleased at all with what I saw. 2007 is a new year for me and this weight IS coming off. Grrrr....

I totally pigged out at my classes party on Thursday (the last day of school for us) cupcake, Cookies, chocolate, nachos, etc over the course of the day... pure sugar and carbs, then our what our school literally calls our "Pig Out Lunch" of a buffet style brisquit and sausage, a little of all the side dishes, cheesecake and pumpkin pie. (I am obviously very very loosley restricted, by choice.) Saturday we made a 6 hour drive to Katy, Texas and I had a bag of Cheeze Nips and a candy bar in the car and then a big family dinner and dessert. Sunday, all food and snacking all day and then a big Chrismas eve dinner. Monday I had turkey dressing 3 times and hersheys kisses and cookies all in between. I totally dont understand how but after a 3ish month stall/plateau I have LOST 3 lbs this week. Maybe I wasnt eating enough before? Maybe I just needed to shake things up? Whatever, I totally ate horrid all week.

I gained a pound or two, but have lost it all with this horrible flu. My mom gave my family the flu, she lost 8 pounds with it, I only lost 4. I am back on the food track today, I started my day with a low sugar oatmeal, and I am having a 7 bean Soup and grilled fish for lunch. ~Mandy

I too gained a couple of pounds--and I did eat anything I wanted....but amazingly I still felt a control I never felt before! I had a plate of food, and it was not brimming over...and I was still working on that plate (never did finish it) when most everyone else was moaning about how much pie they just ate!!!

My weaknesses were the eggnog, and the fudge...both slide right through the band---and taste soooo good. At no time did I ever feel deprived tho--and that was one of the BIG reasons I chose banding over bypass. I do want to occasionally be able to have the eggnog and fudge...and pie, and pralines, you get the idea of my last couple of weeks!!!

With the help of both my band and my bandster friends, the extra 2 pounds (maybe more...didn't weigh again!!!) will be lost again, and life goes on....with me in control! I LOVE it!!!

I am joining in on this thread...unfortunately! I've gained a few pounds, but that junk really goes down easily. I finally have been throwing out the chocolate candy and Cookies. I am sick of the junk. For me the holidays have been one time to test my band. YUK!

WELL

I think my scale said something ridiculous - like NINE pounds - but I know some of that is puffiness from Water retention.

Hopefully ALL - but I would doubt that...

Darn those lemon bars....

3 lbs here...at any other time in my life it probably would have been 15 lbs. i'm still hoping to start 2007 25 lbs less than when i started 2006. That makes me feel much better.

I hit my lowest weight on Christmas Eve and then have let ALL guards down since! Eggnog and chocolate...just like Kat. I have gained three pounds in four days. I am NOT changing my signature, though!

It is unbelieveable how I could go from feeling all-powerful and excited, to feeling out-of-control and depressed. The only quick fix I can come up with is to slip in a super-run tonight! But don't feel like it. This is where willpower comes in to play. (I'll let you know tomorrow who won)

I haven't weighed myself for 2 weeks and I KNOW it will be bad news. I even tried to get in for a fill today but it is snowing here again. Did I mention I was trapped in my home for 3 days because of a blizzard...and it is snowing AGAIN!

Ditto...I can feel the gain but I am too afraid to get on the scale. We are all going to get a jump start in 2007!!!! Lets do it!!!

About 5lbs Here. I Went Back To Everything I Did Prior To Having Lap Band. Rather Ashamed Of Myself And Having A Hard Time Getting Back On Track. I Feel Like Every Day I Am Saying I Will Start Tomorrow And Once Tomorrow Is Gone I Say I Will Start Monday. Bad Habits Are Hard To Break.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
