Pack some Protein bars and once you're there go to a store and buy some shakes. A glass of wine is probably OK but I'd stay away from the hard stuff. Be sure to drink your Water because you can get dehydrated really fast in a hot climate and on the beach. Hope you like seafood and have a great time!!!

pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274

I traveled 6 weeks out. It was as soon as I was cleared of all dietary restrictions. I did pack some Protein shakes. Put them in a zip lock, then in tupperware and they were fine. I also packed some string cheese. I was nervous but it was easier than I thought. Usually had seafood and steamed or grilled veggies for dinner and lunch was a sandwich without the bread. I also took some nectar Protein powder to mix with my Water to make sure I got it in.

I have been enjoying a couple glasses of wine on the weekends since 6 weeks. My surgeon and NUT are fine with it as long as there are no issues getting in my Water. I would try a drink at home first, it can affect you differently after surgery. I feel it a bit after a few sips but it quickly goes away and then I'm fine. I could nurse a glass of wine out and drive but would wait a good deal, but no way I could have more than that and feel like it was safe.

If you will be off dietary restrictions at 6 weeks, try a few food things too, so you can see how they will sit in your new tummy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
