Travel and the sleeve

Recommended Posts

My sleeve surgery is scheduled for June 27 and I have a road trip to DC (about 5 hours from me) scheduled for Thursday, July 11 through Monday, July 14 for a convention. How have you all handled vacations ad road trips post-surgery and how did you pack food? What foods travel well? What fast food options are available for me? There's also a breakfast scheduled for Monday that I have to pay $25 to attend. Uhhhh!! I already KNOW I won't be able to eat all of the food on the menu and I don't want to explain anything to any of the folks in attendance. Tips? Advice?

I didn't do a road trip but probably will depend on your Drs diet progression.

I was still on liquids at 2 weeks out and that was the day I went back to work and also went to full liquids which included cottage cheese, refried Beans, yogurt, etc... Since it was my 1st day back at work I was hesitant about adding those items as I didn't know how my sleeve would react to them.

I did try them and all went well;)

This is a great question for your nutritionist or dietitian. We can't answer it without knowing what restrictions you will have on your diet at that time.

It is 100% about planning ahead. I made sure I had my surgery far enough out so my first conference was after I was moved to soft solids. From there it was just checking what the hotel restaurants had and planning accordingly.

Hit me up if you have more questions. I travel a ton and found some great tricks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
