Travel and the sleeve

My sleeve surgery is scheduled for June 27 and I have a road trip to DC (about 5 hours from me) scheduled for Thursday, July 11 through Monday, July 14 for a convention. How have you all handled vacations ad road trips post-surgery and how did you pack food? What foods travel well? What fast food options are available for me? There's also a breakfast scheduled for Monday that I have to pay $25 to attend. Uhhhh!! I already KNOW I won't be able to eat all of the food on the menu and I don't want to explain anything to any of the folks in attendance. Tips? Advice?

I didn't do a road trip but probably will depend on your Drs diet progression.

I was still on liquids at 2 weeks out and that was the day I went back to work and also went to full liquids which included cottage cheese, refried beans, yogurt, etc... Since it was my 1st day back at work I was hesitant about adding those items as I didn't know how my sleeve would react to them.

I did try them and all went well;)

This is a great question for your nutritionist or dietitian. We can't answer it without knowing what restrictions you will have on your diet at that time.

Okay, I'll run this by him. Thanks!

It is 100% about planning ahead. I made sure I had my surgery far enough out so my first conference was after I was moved to soft solids. From there it was just checking what the hotel restaurants had and planning accordingly.

Hit me up if you have more questions. I travel a ton and found some great tricks.
