Discouraged and Embarrassed

Recommended Posts

Yes, for me it was. I had serious issues with drinking and peeing for about 5 days after surgery. Pretty minor now in the grand scheme of things, but it was a minor complication at the time. Almost everyone does a catheter after surgery, probably because of the pain medicine and not the sleeve directly. Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones and wake up with one instead of getting one while awake.

Interesting, I had the same issue after surgery but only for a few hours. Two and a half IV bags and I could only pee a teaspoon full. They did an ultrasound on my bladder and it was bone dry! :o

They said they would catheter me if I couldn't do better. It worked itself out hours later but I didn't start peeing until later when I got home.

Yes, it was interesting. I was on so much IV Fluid that week that my weight was 20 lb higher then DOS. It took a couple weeks to return to ground zero weight. Anyways. Not meaning to hijack the thread Elaine. It is just something you want to keep on your radar for after surgery. I am super impressed by your viewpoints on this thread. It shows you are going to be of sound MIND for when the really hard stuff comes post op where your headspace is really messed with.

Off topic, but LauraVen, I love your thread on addiction. I wouldn't say it there bc there are too many posters and I'm a wimp, but the vast majority of the ones who say they aren't addicted are, in my opinion, full of s&!t.

Thanks to all. This day is ending better than it started:)

Hahaha.. Love it! I secret post to vent the truth. I agree.. They are in complete denial. I would like to know the success/failure rate of deniers.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
