Down under 240 now, and today was my first day of non-pureed food! Breakfast was the Protein Drink, and then 1 oz salmon and a bit of pear for lunch! So good! I ate slowly, but after 45 minutes discarded the rest of the pear. So far so good on toleration. And it was tasty and satisfying.

I'm June 3rd too, down 42 lbs from preop! Love the sleeve! I ate 1/4 of an apple today with about 1 tablespoon of Peanut Butter. It was delicious!!

Tuesday was my 5-week appointment. I'm healing beautifully and have permission to do weights and start ab exercise next week. I wore size 22 shorts this last weekend and my 28s are literally falling off me. :D And best of all, the thing I most wanted, the thing that makes all the numbers irrelevant, is my knees. I haven't needed to take any pain meds for them since the surgery.

That's what I wanted: to be able to walk pain-free. I'm hoping that even with the arthritis being aggravated during the winter that in six months I'll be small enough to make meds irrelevant or at least not an everyday thing there too!

Hi everyone! I too was sleeved on June 3rd. I'm now down 39lbs since pre op and I'm starting to feel fantastic. How is everyone doing with solids? I have been sick a few times which sucks. But I'm learning what to avoid and that I really do have to slow down when eating

Wow it looks like everyone is doing well. I have lost 34lbs and I'm so happy with my sleeve. I started going to the gym last week. Due to work it was difficult to start but I started that and feeling great. Solids are doing well. I mostly eat chicken , eggs or anything Protein. The shakes are getting old and now I can't stomach them. I have found that the Atkins goes down well and I've been drinking the Carmel latte one which taste like coffee. The only problem is that is only 15 gram of Protein. But low in Calories, no carbs and like 1g of sugar. I'm doing well with my liquids and Vitamins. For sure I do better in certain days and always could improve.

Would love for everyone on this chat to be more active just for the support. Again congratulations to you all. :).

I'm in a stall right now, nothing down in a week. I am getting in my Water and making sure to get one shake in a day. Hoping it's just TTOM stuff....

I was sleeved on June 3 and now I am in a stalled at 300lbs....ugh...can't it stall at 299...lol I have lost 60lbs since surgery, so I feel really great about that. I started this journey at 438lbs and lost 78lbs pre op...they made me do a 4 week liquid diet (harsh) plus a 4 week nutrition class.

I am down 41 pounds so far. Currently at 199! I haven't seen the one hundred club in over 10 years! I am excited. I am having a rough go with the Vitamins though... I have to be honest they make me sick and I don't like taking them. Overall I feel pretty good. I can eat pretty much anything in very very small portions. How's everyone doing?

Just wanted to share that this morning, I weighed in at 221.5 (down from 309 in December, 265 June 3). This is equal to the smallest weight I've been since I was 19, and I turn 42 in two weeks. By my birthday, I'll be back to my teen-level weight again.

I am doing so well! I don't mind the 1-2 lb/week average dropping. I feel like it's healthy for me and I'm so very happy. I have energy and skin tone. I am starting with a bit of the hair loss, but I was braced for that and it's no worse than it was 12 weeks out from my childrens' births. (I've actually had worse Hair loss from regular diets.)

I CAN eat anything, but I'm being very choosy with my foods. I've discovered a love for sweet and savory tuna. I'm also eating more seafood, which is great because I've always loved that.

I've even celebrated by getting a new pair of glasses, my first in years. They're a lot like my 80s glasses. Pics in my gallery!

Hey friends. Hope all is well. I'm at 213lbs so far. Started at 256 day of surgery so yayyyyyyyy!! Thats a loss of 43lbs. Last week I went on my first vacation a cruise to the Bahamas. I was nervous as crazy but I was super careful. I did try wine it went down well. I decided to stay active and when I got home I lost 5lbs. That was such a shock didn't think I would loose that much. I expect this week to give me a smaller number or none at all. I'm happy so far. I am struggling with Water only getting in 40 oz. I wanna increase that but find myself struggling. Thanks everyone for updating and congrats on all the success.

Good on you for staying careful on the cruise! That's hard work. And I'm glad someone else is dropping at the same rate as I am. :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
