I thought I'd put it out there to see of anyone has had this happen as I've really only seen it happen to others at weeks 5 or 6 and then later on.

I'm 4 and a half weeks post op and I've lost 8kg (17lb) which I'm thrilled with but I haven't lost any weight since 2 weeks post op.

Is this normal?

Congrats on joining the "half-fast" losers club. You're in good company. I am just starting month 6 and I can testify that my weight loss happens in a similar pattern to yours. I'll be stuck at a certain weight for a week or 3 (or, eeeek! actually gain 3 to 5 lbs!), then over night I'll drop a pound or 2. This has happened at lest 4 times in the past 3 months.

The 1st couple of times, it freaked me out. I'm thinking, "Is this it? Is this all the weight I'm gonna lose?" (insert modified stationary panic) Then I get over myself and just keep on doing the program. And the weight resumes it's downward march. It just takes time and patience.

Keep Pimpin that Sleeve!

I'm at week 5 and I've stayed the same for a week no gain or loss. As long as I'm not gaining I'm not mad. I've lost 33 lbs so far plus I've been walking so maybe that's why idk .

K8ee thanks for posting the question I'm experiencing the same thing. I'm 4 weeks post op and have been stalled for the past 2 weeks. I'm nauseated all the time and never eat more than two spoonfuls before I'm done. Getting in 64oz of Water each day is hard for me. I recently started adding lemon to my Water as plain water hit the bottom of my stomach like a of bricks.

Just like others have said on this thread f I was on any of the other diets I would have quit by now. Breaking old habits and learning to adjust to my new stomach is a constant battle.

The scale will lie to you. Take your measurements. I was dropping inches like crazy and while posting minimal weight loss (especially those first few months). Also it is very common for people to not lose week three. Your body is making adjustments.

Also a very helpful article on stalls:

Hello, i decided when i got my sleeve to put away the scale! Finish the scale for my, if i follow the rules pot surgery, i will losse pounds. I dont get discouraded that way . I dont focus on the scale now but i rather keep in mind that i gave my self a second chance and it will work. You will see the difference in your clothing. This my way to deal eveday!

Is it recommended by your docs that you weigh yourself every day or even every week? I'm thinking twice a month might be enough for me. I am worried I will get very discouraged if I see these little peaks and valleys. Healing, TOM and the time of day we weigh must all still impact our weight loss, right? (Keep in mind I am pre-op., so I am just thinking out loud) ;)

You are hilarious! You captured my thought exactly too!

I swear I just need to stay off the scales for a month (that's after I weigh in first!).

It's nice to know I'm not alone. I think this forum either posts exceeding results of the sleeve or really bad results. But I'm just an in-betweener!

I had my two week check in last Friday. Since then' date=' I have lost 1.6 pounds even though I have only consumed 1887 calories. How ridiculous is that? That said, I can't undo it, so ONWARD!! NO MATTER WHAT.[/quote']

Mate, a loss is better than a gain. You should be proud of yourself!!

I think maybe we are our own worst enemies!!!

I see the difference in my clothes more than on the scale. I also have the couple week stalls and get a little worried but know that it will come off if I keep on track.

Normal. Joining myfitnesspal.com helps too, track your calories although that first stall post op is completely normal. I stalled for nearly an entire month when I hit that three week post op mark. I was eating next to zero calories too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
