I'm curious if you come out of surgery hungry?

The first thing I asked for was some Water, because I had cotton mouth so bad. They gave me ice chips and I was fine. I didn't think about any kind of food until probably day 6 post op.

Fortunately I'm still not hungry. Almost 6 months out and it's only occasionally when I smell a good food that I get hungry. My lack of eating is probably a huge factor in my level of weigh loss. I find that ok since I'm not wanting to be interested in eating other to stay healthy.

I woke up dying of thirst and hunger. I can't figure out how a stomach that's just been cut apart could want food? I do get hungry at 9 months out but it still only takes a very small amount to fill me up. I've lost 140 lbs in 9 months so I don't think it matters if you wake up hungry.

I can't do it! It will not go down. I am going back to a Protein drink for Breakfast and I'm choking down a Greek yogurt now. It's not by choice, trust me.

I can truly understand that... I first tried adding Protein powder to the Greek yogurt post-op, then I tried to eat without the Protein Powder, either way I was gagging as I put it in my mouth. I just couldn't do it.

Couldn't have eaten a thing and the thought made me ill. All I wanted were ice chips.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
