You guys can do it! I'm on day 6 today. I know it sounds hard to believe, I snickered when I read other people say this, but after day 1 it really does get easier. I am allowed 3-5 Protein Shakes a day, that's it. I was nervous about that and wondered how in the world I would do that! But you have to think of the end result! It's all mental! Put your mind to it and you can do it!

Yup I start my liquid diet today... Excited knowing i can do it!!! It's definitely a mental challenge. I've done a Protein Shake diet on my own a little while ago. And was easy especially seeing the weight come off so quickly. I ended losing 60lbs in 4 months but knowing that mu surgeon may say no on surgery date if I don't lose 10lbs is motivation enough to say I will do it. I'm even giving myself a challenge to surpass her expectations and lose 20lbs so now I know I can and will do it!!!

I start my liquid diet today too. I have had the same fears as you! But someone here said to me that my attitude on how I approach this pre op diet had a lot to do with how I did this week. So my mind set changed. I now see this as a challenge to prep me for what is coming post op. Dont think of everything you can't have... think of your goal (which is to loose all the excess weight). It's definitely going to be hard and a test. But we can do this!!! Good luck!

I'm with you! Today is day 2 of my 10 day Pre-op liquid diet (my surgery is scheduled for June 5th). Cooking dinner tonight for my family was the first time I felt really challenged - though I was kinda tired and somewhat hungry before that even but I'm hoping tomorrow will be easier. Hang in there everyone - we can do this! Just think about where we're headed :)

I'm 8 days into my pre-op diet, and it can be a challenge, mentally. All the positivity on this post is infectious, though! We can do this!

I just completed day 6 of my pre op Optifast diet and now i have 7 more days left...... The diet isnt as bad as i intended it to be. I have put myself into all kinds of situations that involved going out to restaurants to the movies and a cookout...... And the strange thing is that not being able to eat food right now isnt bothering me at all..... I have this diet 100 percent and nothing is going to get in my way

Yes today was kinda bad for me too. But lets stay positive. Keep you eye on the prize!!! As for doing anything wrong. I don't think we are. I just think that our bodies are not use to this. But I've read here that it gets easier after the 3rd day. Looking foward to that!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
