I am not taking Laura-ven as a role model...NSV #1!

Recommended Posts

I did an early morning sweep of all my pants today. I took all my size 20 pants and rotated them out of my closet and into a bin to go to the shelter I volunteer at and/or the consignment shop.

I have lost 30.8 pounds and have gone from a snug 20W to a very loose 18W.

Fortunately, I work from home and when I am out, I am business casual. My daily outfit consists of either khaki or black trousers or trouser capris and I have them down to a size 16R so I don't need to buy anything yet. I did not do the tops because I have tremendous ta-tas and I can still wear most of the tops, even if they look a little balloonish.

Have you started yet, Laura? Don't make me show you up.

Ha ha! I called her out in a closet cleaning challenge, and she said she was working on it. :-D

You know, I clean my closet (really I rotate it) every season and this is the first time I am excited about the prospect. I usually hold on to everything just in case I need it next year and usually I've outgrown everything. If I do happen to be on a downswing, I know deep down it's not forever and I just put it to the back.. For the first time, I am actually going to dump this stuff if it's even a little too big. I am not buying anything new until I have to and until my closet is at least half way empty.

I picked the perfect time for my surgery, too. I take most of the summer off my work to hang with my kids at the pool and beach. I don't need anything but a few pairs of capris and a half dozen bathing suits from mid June through August. Perhaps I will buy a few sun dresses just to make it through at most.

Ok!!! I'm drinking my morning coffee and run across this...

Well...it's better than some of the things I was called yesterday here :P

I will get rid of them today I PROMISE!

I was holding on to them out of fear? Laziness?

I don't know but I will do it.

That is a great idea! I didn't even think of that. The consignment shop and shelter will get the next load.

Laura should be everyone's role model! I have been down for quite a while and the only thing that has kept me going is reading Laura's posts. She has been my breath of fresh air when I have been drowning and the light at the end of my tunnel. I admire you so much Laura, keep doing what you do, for you truly are an inspiration!

Hey Wendy!

How are things?? Things on this side of the pond are ok. With you and Dean being missing in action on the boards I've been missing my Aussie fix!

Laura I latterly have no clothes in my closet. I gave them all away! Every single one. Now I wear Dave's clothes hahaha lol Wendy's right about you! But she herself is also an inspiration! And I feel the shakes coming on from withdrawals of my Australian pals.

Hey Laura, I am doing better despite my life. Last week my daughter gave birth to her baby 8 weeks early. Our darling Ruby weighed 3lbs at birth. I spent a whole day thinking I would lose them both but thankfully they are both still here and each day I wake up and feel so lucky that they are. I guess I have been shocked back into reality and realize that over the last weeks I have been extremely self-indulgent. (Sorry to anyone I have offended).

I have really struggled with my sleeve over this stressful period, but I am determined to get back on track and healthy for my loved ones. As always Laura, your posts lightened my darkest days. Thanks. And by the way it hasn't all been bad, I have discovered the best chocolate ever! Ok, that's really bad but if you only eat 3 squares of it and nothing else for the whole day you can still stay under 600 cal.s. (That's a joke people). Pls. don't give me a hard time..... Yay, I'm back!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
