Laura I latterly have no clothes in my closet. I gave them all away! Every single one. Now I wear Dave's clothes hahaha lol Wendy's right about you! But she herself is also an inspiration! And I feel the shakes coming on from withdrawals of my Australian pals.

Come here you! I just want to give you a big cuddle. I have missed you so much you cute, slim man! And what's going on with your cute man? Are you ready to send him my way yet or has Laura claimed him?

Hey Laura' date=' I am doing better despite my life. Last week my daughter gave birth to her baby 8 weeks early. Our darling Ruby weighed 3lbs at birth. I spent a whole day thinking I would lose them both but thankfully they are both still here and each day I wake up and feel so lucky that they are. I guess I have been shocked back into reality and realize that over the last weeks I have been extremely self-indulgent. (Sorry to anyone I have offended).

I have really struggled with my sleeve over this stressful period, but I am determined to get back on track and healthy for my loved ones. As always Laura, your posts lightened my darkest days. Thanks. And by the way it hasn't all been bad, I have discovered the best chocolate ever! Ok, that's really bad but if you only eat 3 squares of it and nothing else for the whole day you can still stay under 600 cal.s. (That's a joke people). Pls. don't give me a hard time..... Yay, I'm back![/quote']

Oh Wendy!

I'm so glad your daughter and granddaughter are ok! And what a beautiful name, Ruby :)

Wendy you are like the rest of us here we all go through highs and lows.

I tried to explain that to someone yesterday. These posts are just a snapshot of our lives sometimes and are influenced by what we are going through at that particular moment. And sometimes that moment we are feeling the lowest of low..

I'm glad you are turning things around, I knew you would :).

chocolate? Yum!

My son bought some dark chocolate that was 91% cacao at first I thought it was yucky and bitter but then It grew on me and a nibble once in a while is not a forbidden thing to me!

My partner has taken to eating that chocolate. Apparently it does all these wonderful things for you. Ha ha, not sure what that is but while he is eating it he has this really contented look on his face.

I did an early morning sweep of all my pants today. I took all my size 20 pants and rotated them out of my closet and into a bin to go to the shelter I volunteer at and/or the consignment shop.

Dropped 8 heaping bags off at the GoodWill last Sunday. It was hard giving up some of those outfits. (I spent a small fortune on stylish big-girl clothes). But, I will thoroughly enjoy replacing them once I get to goal!

She's beautiful

Thank you, and yes she is an angel because we are told that if she was born one minute later we would not have her.

Wow you have done well with your weight loss. (BTW I cleaned my closet yesterday too. My old 18's fit me pefect now, Did they use to make them smaller? lol)

Did you have a pre-op diet, if so how much did you loose and how long was it? If its ok for me to ask.

But I wanted to say I think they did make pants smaller!

I know I can buy 12's now and some of my old pants that still fit are 14's

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
