Too much protein and water?

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 days post op and got in 3 Protein Shakes for a total of 84g Protein and drank about 50oz Water. Seems like too much according to what others have posted. Should I be concerned?

That's great! I struggled to get in my 60g of Protein the first few weeks, and still struggle with my liquids almost 8 weeks out...

That's great! I'm almost 2 weeks out and I'm really struggling with hydration. I'm getting close to hitting that 64oz goal, but close ain't cutting it judging by how dehydrated and crappy I feel!

Im 5 days out and I'm having a hard time with liquids too. Everything I drink makes me feel nauseous. It is getting a little better than it was the day after surgery but I feel like I'm not getting enough liquids down. I'm also tired of everything I am drinking. Plain Water makes me feel really sick so I'm doing crystal light and Popsicles etc. but just getting so tired of those same drinks. My son was drinking a cold bottle of water and it looks so good I just want to pick it up and chug it like I used to be able to do. This is getting really frustrating!

Sounds great to me. Are you including the shakes into your 50oz of Water? If so, you probably want to focus a bit more on hydration. Remember, frat priority is hydration, then Protein.

You are doing great though!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
