I had band removal, hernia repair and the sleeve all in one surgery and am so thankful because I was gaining weight with a slipped band!

A slipped band? Ugh, I can't even imagine what kinds of trouble that was for you. So glad you were able to have everything repaired at the same time and you're well on the way to mending. I see that you have already lost 85 pounds... congratulations!!!!

Thanks!!! I was so happy to get the approval. My out of pocket is a little high (5050)' date=' with with the pre and post care support provided, it is well worth it![/quote']

Do you have a $5000 dr copay? I have BCBS TRS Active Care and am reading it will be a $5000 copay, $50 office visit, $150/day hospital stay, $150/outpatient test (endoscopy, stress test etc) plus 20% of surgery costs. This seems excessive to me, just wondering if you have the same?

Mine is a 1200 deductible, 80/20 coverage with a $5050 annual out of pocket max. Since I know the procedure with everything will be high, I am counting on paying the $5050 out of pocket

SarahLFiles,

I have the same insurance you do:BCBS TRS-active care 1-HD. We have a 5k deductible (which I met) and all the numbers sound like what they told us. It does seem like a lot of money, especially when we pay a little over $500 a month on coverage for my husband and I. I'll know more once I speak with the surgeons office. If it ends up being ridiculously expensive (out of pocket) I may end up going to Mexico!

We have TRS-Active Care2 and it's about $1080 a month for myself and hubs. I'm with you on going to Mx! I've been looking into that recently because I know this is going to be very $$.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
