I am scared to death to loose my hair. I recently had my surgery on May 8th 2013, so I haven't experienced any Hair loss yet. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on how to maintain minimal hair-loss?? I've seen YouTube videos and read posts about loosing hair after the surgery. My hair is thin enough as it is, I would hate to loose more!

I started taking Biotin & prenatal Vitamins (Walmart brands). I started using Organix Biotin and collagen shampoo/conditioner (Walmart also). I am 10 weeks out & thankfully haven't had it yet...from what I have read on here...it usually doesn't start til the 4 or 5 month and lasts til the 9th or 10th month and grows back...

Good luck!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the odds are not in your favor. Not saying it's 100% certain you will lose hair or how much, but it's better to not to waste energy fretting over something you can't do much to prevent. I took Biotin since before surgery, got all my Protein in every day, and still started losing at 3.5 months. I went to a dermatologist last week, and they gave me some injections and a topical steroid to slow the loss and speed growth. I sure hope it works! I also started with hair on the thin side, so I couldn't afford to lose it at the rate I am. Hope it works out better for you.

Your hair will grow back... Working in Bariatrics I've seen many patients lose hair and it grow back. Don't stress over it. Worst case, contact your doctor about treatment options.

How did the treatment end up working for you?

I completed 3 months last week and literally on my 3rd month mark, my hair started falling. I felt like crying in the shower when clumps fell out. It was horrible. I started taking Biotin and have ordered the Shampoo on Amazon as well. I do hope it works. My entire floor all day is with hair.

Yuck!

When does the hair fall stop?

I am 4 1/2 mos post op and in the last two weeks ive been "shedding" a bit more- maybe 100 hairs a day. In addition to Biotin I have been using the "Wen" hair care system. I think it has been helping.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
