Hi everyone. How ate you all doing. I was able to drop 14 lbs pre op in 6 weeks. Following my surgeon have had a great post op. exception nausae first two days. I been able to walk two miles mornings and another one mile at night. Protein goes down well. Water going down not as well but getting in 55 ounces. So how is everyone doing.

the nausea will get better. walking definitely helps you to heal faster (per my doctor). wow...three miles in one day....that's pretty impressive for a week post op. you inspire me to walk a little further tonight. best wishes for continued healing and recovery. :)

I am day 5 too. I still pretty swollen and sore but it gets better every day. I was able to get almost 50g of Protein today and more fluids than each previous day. I had a lot of air coming up right after surgery and couldn't get my drinks in. I have walked around the block a few times. I felt really bad this morning so I drank some protien and then I felt better. I haven't lost anything since the day of surgery but I did go up after surgery and I have lost all of that weight as of this morning. We can do this!

I bought the Atkins shakes that are ready to drink. They taste pretty good. I tried to add unflavored protien to chicken broth but it didn't work out. I think I added too much and then it got too hot and curdled. I think I should have added it after I heated the broth, not before. I am still really swollen and can't even fit into my fat jeans. I was down two pounds yesterday. Today is day 7. One day at time...

Congrats folks! I'm 22 days out and it gets so much better. I feel totally "normal" now. Back to feeling like myself again. Nausea will go away. And those of you walking...keep walking, those of you not walking...start walking! Really helps :) liquids are most important first week, so don't stress so much about the Protein. However, if you can get it in do because it will help you from feeling so weak. Also, I was told by my NUT to have a regular (not sugar free) Jello everyday to help give me energy. (This is obviously not for diabetics). So there's my 2 cents! Good luck! :D

16 days out. Feeling amazing. Protein Shakes are a must for energy. I can feel it when I skip. Best decision ever! Oh and eating regular food. Just chewing it to mush. Makes a big difference in energy as well. Loving life again!

I'm still in hospital and am at the end of day 3. I had been given a book of what to eat (guidelines) for each phase.

Eg week 1 post op 5 small meals a day(liquid). You should try and get in at least 2 Protein Drinks, drinking yoghurt, milkshake and thin Soup. Then in between all of that drink plenty of Water.< /p>

My question is though, why does the hospital at each meal time, give me all of the above????!?!! Clearly I can't drink it all and I am just making sure I still get my requirements. But for those who didn't know I thought this was a worthwhile post.

Ps the walking definitely does help. I have done 4 x 15 minute stints today and feeling really positive about everything!

CoreyCan, thanks for your input. I was sleeved on Monday (May 6), and I just can't get my Proteins in. The taste of the clear Isopure drinks is awful to me, but I still try and take a few sips of it every day. I know that when I move to full liquids next week, I'll have more success. other than the Protein issue, I'm having an easy recovery!

Katherinec - if you're drinking the flavored Isopure get some Chrystal Light singles to add. I did the Punch Isopure with the fruit Punch Chrystal Light. It's does make it pretty sweet but hides that Protein after taste. You'll do great, just move as much as you can ie walk and you'll feel better sooner. And I know you can imagine it but you will be able to eat again in a couple of weeks. Just have to get used to each step as it comes. Your stomach will rumble with each new thing but it will stop. I'm 3 weeks out and it very rarely does it now.

Hi everyone I'm doing the coconut Isopure not too bad and it also has coconut Water. Remember water is most important first week and if you have nausea you could also be dehydrated sip sip sip. I'm 11 days out feeling great. The more walking you get in the better I was approved to power walk so I've been hitting the tread mill and elliptical I believe this has lead to a bm every day no Constipation ever. I'm sleeping good. I have not weighed myself I go to the doctor on Wednesday I will wait my main focus is following the rules being safe and staying complication free. Except for nausae which I got meds for its all good

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
