I was 6 weeks out yesterday and over the last week to week and a half I feel like I am getting more restriction. I have started eating chicken and fish but I had not been having any trouble getting in about 5 oz of fish at a time. I have been eating 4-4.5 oz of scrambled eggs at a time since about 4 weeks out. But now I am having a hard time even getting in 4 oz at a time. I fixed 4.5 oz of tuna salad (just tuna, light mayo and plain mustard) for lunch today and I probably didn't even get in but maybe 3 oz before I felt full. I'm not complaining I'm just confused. I thought we would gradually be able to eat a little more along and along. I'm so happy with my sleeve and I am feeling great. I guess I am just concerned that something could be wrong now that I am able to eat less than I was two weeks ago. Any thoughts folks?

I think many things have an effect on our restriction. Hot weather does me. It was almost 90 here yesterday and I could hardly eat a couple of bites any time I tried eating. Today I'm different

I agree with Ms. AntiBand. I eat differently sometimes on a daily basis. I feel like I cant eat as much some days. My Dr. told me the healing process was 12+ weeks so I just chalk it up to "I am still healing". And I know for me the ounces depend on what it is. The thinner, the more oz I can eat.

Every day is a learning experience.

definitely still healing. every day is different for me. i have found that the more Water i consume throughout the day makes a difference in how much food i can actually hold. for me, it's a challenge to consume 64 ounces of liquid....makes it difficult to think about eating....if i consume 40 ounces of water a day, my ability to actually eat food is better...

I think it's the weather for me too. It's been very sunny and in the 70's here in Seattle and I'm barely eating at all, and I'm on vacation and have been out and about. The nice thing is, I don't feel hungry like I would pre-surgery.

I feel more restriction as time goes by. I don't really understand why but that's what is happening. Not that I'm complaining, but if there is much more restriction I won't be able to eat at all:)

Drinking anything at all makes me even fuller.

Today I ate most of a half sandwich, 3/4 of a boiled egg, and 8 fritos. I won't be hungry the rest of the day. I have dinner cooking in the oven and I'm sure I'll have some of it later, but only because it's there and time to eat. Not because I'm hungry.

I asked for restriction and I really got it. It gets worse all the time.

I agree, I think a bunch of factors go into how much of any particular thing we can ingest. How moist something is, is it more dense... what did we have the last meal we ate...

If it continues to concern you, track what you're having and bring it in to your NUT next time you go. Now I'm curious.. I'm going to have to make some notes on things I can't eat as much of. Interesting topic.

I track EVERYTHING I eat, EVERY bite of everything I eat. That's why it makes so little sense to me. I drink at least 64 oz of Fluid each day (it is a very rare occasion that I don't get in that much and even then I get in at least 48 oz of fluid) but most days I get between 80-100 oz in. The tuna that I was eating had light mayo and mustard in it so it was plenty moist. I bake or pan sear fish every night but I do it so they are not dry. Last night I ate about 6 oz of Tilapia, but some night's I'm doing good to eat 3 oz of it, cooked the same way. Who knows. I know everyone is different. I guess lots of factors play into it as well. I didn't realize that it would take 12+ weeks to heal so that makes sense some too. I'm just going to have to get really good at figuring out that one bite too full and take two less bites that that! LOL!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
