Sleeveed on May 3rd 2012

Recommended Posts

Just got sleeved in Berlin, MD. (Close to to Ocean City, MD). Dr Zarif was excellent. Was supposed to stay overnight for observation , but he kept me another night just to make sure I was ok. I am home now and just a little sore. Ready to start my Liquid Protein today. Was very scared before the surgery, but I'm happy I went through it. My highest weight was 350. My weight before surgery was 305. I weighed myself this morning at 298. Yeaaaa me!!!!

I had to see my nutritionist once a month for 6 months in order for BCBS of MD would approve it. She was very informative and supportive. She gave me small goals each month that took on weight loss one lb at a time. I also joined a support group that I attended regularly. The members there were very encouraging. My husband had the lap band done about 2 years ago, and has lost about 90 lbs. He is my greatest inspiration. 2 weeks prior my surgery, the nutritionist put me on a 1000 calorie diet 2 meals under 250 calories and the rest Protein shakes. I could have 1/2 cup of fruit or veggies with my meal. The Lean Cuisine lines makes quite a bit of meals around 250 cal. Drinking plenty of Water helps also.I was so afraid at first, but thank God He has His hands on me. Good look on your journey!!

Rene that is so inspiring to me. My heaviest weight was 351. I just had my sleeve on may 24. I am now at 337. I did not lose as much as you pre-surgery. I would really like to stay in touch with you. How old are you? I'm 30 and from Florida. Tomorrow will be 1 week for me. I am starting to feel better, but would really like to be reassured that things will be much better soon. I feel like I am missing out on life right now...

Sorry I haven't been on that much. We can definitely keep in touch. I am 39 and I live in Delaware. I am down to 275 now and feeling great. It is rough at first but it does get better. I just rode a bike for then first time in 15 years and it felt great!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
