I don't think blk widow spiders are imported. They live all over Eastern Washington so that leaves out, cherries, apples, wine, potatoes, ..all tree fruit, oh dang.. beer from hops. Not to mention all meats from ranches over here.

OK... IM JUST TEASING! Kinda :D

Heh, once my husband kept a blk widow as a pet, but we couldn't catch enough food to feed it so he squished it. I killed one with spray deodorant once because I didn't want to go get my broom.. Anyway.. We far enough off subject, yet :)

Hijacked?

A midwesterner if ever there was one! I bet you sit on the davenport too!

Takes one to know one! :)

LOL, I will never drink pop again, though I never drank soda since I'm from the midwest. And in Michigan, we sit on the couch, though I do a lot less of that since I got my new tool :) I think they sit on davenports in Ohio ;)

I'm talking about the ones who preach that NONE of us must ever drink soda ever again and if you do, you're somehow not dedicated to the process or you are somehow automatically backsliding into emotional eating or binging.

Thanks for the clarification and I have a better understanding of where you are coming from. I just wonder though if those that grant absolution to those that come to this board seeking it, are really doing the right thing. If this was a board of alcoholics and someone came on and wanted to know which of the twelve steps allowed for beer, would we agree that beer would be okay? I'm just thinking out loud here, and not putting this to you at all. I do question what types of decisions have been made when someone comes here and asks about certain foods or certain behaviors that have been proven to be detrimental to one's health (like soda and all the foods you mention). I just wonder if any of us on this board is doing the right thing by saying well..."do it if you want to, it certainly won't kill you"....when maybe we should be saying "it would be better for your health and your recovery if you didn't do it." Maybe if we did more of that, we wouldn't see so many "I've failed at WLS...or I can't get the scale to move" posts. I dunno, just thinking out loud on a rainy day....

A question was asked to people who are in a similar situation. I think your personal lectures on "backsliding" and such is really uncalled for and rude. We all have vices but they're not the same. The analogy using AA was good except when you go to a meeting and admit you fell off they don't get lectured they get support to fight another day.

The purpose of this forum so I thought was for support. The purpose of our new tool is ultimately to learn how to live life with things in moderation. If you can drink soda, eat dessert, drink alcohol and any other taboo behaviors in moderation then your on point!! Less judgment people we get enough of that from "regular" people no place for it here.

Have a blessed day! ; )

I could not agree more. At any AA meeting (you should go to an open meeting near you; it's powerful stuff and applicable to many of our food struggles) you're going to hear someone admit relapsing and you won't hear lectures or sermons... You'll hear encouragement about how tomorrow is another day and relapse isn't the end of recovery. I'd like to hear more of that here and less self righteousness.

As you see I said exactly what you said we should probably say and I did it in a nice way and she came back not liking it much. Hmmm just my opinion though

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
