Goal is very personal for everyone. I wish I had a nickle for everyone who said don't lose more. I had a goal in mind and I got there. I've been maintaining within 5 lb.s of that goal for over a year.

You look like you carry your weight well. I'm the same way and the same height. I would say your goals seem reasonable to me. My goal is 180 and my dr just wants my bmi under 30 but they didn't specify a weight. I just remember what I looked like at that weight and either that or 190 I would be happy with. But I also agree its up to you and what makes you happy. For me 190 sounds so far away! Lol! Congrats on your success!

You look great! I'd say its up to you if you level out or keep going!

On a side note, It's so strange how different people carry different weight. I'm less than an inch shorter than you and am at 202 and still in a woman's 18/16. I can say with certainty that you look A LOT smaller than I do.

Either way you go, you have done great and I am glad your thrilled with the new you!

I just want to say congratulations! We all can agree that this surgery was the best thing we could have done for our health. But your goal is going to change as the scale changes and as you begin to get comfortable with being smaller, I got to the point where I decided it is not about what the scale says but I want to have a normal BMI. Get ready people are going to say you are getting too small, but that really just means your weight loss is making them notice their own need to lose weight or they just haven't adjusted to the new you. It takes time, I am one year out 103 pounds lighter and went down like 12-16 sizes! It feels good no great no fantastic going to the store and my size 4 is the only size in those cute skinny jeans. We didn't have this surgery to still shop plus size. Embrace the new you eventually those that say don't lose anymore weight will embrace you as well or show their true feelings of jealousy and envy. Good luck keep going for you, your health and your life!

You can't listen to your friends. I am the exact height you are, and before surgery at 255 pounds, people were telling me that I wasn't fat, I wasn't obese, and I was "too skinny" to need weight-loss surgery.

They were wrong.

I am currently in the 170 to 175 range, and I have been as low as 169. I am still in the losing phase, and I am 21 months out from surgery. My weight fluctuates, and I have to WORK to lose, but I am determined to get into the "normal" BMI range, which is 161 pounds.

I will say that I was very happy in the 185-range. Personally, I wanted to be as far below 200 as I could be in order to give me as much room as possible to keep from ever going back over 200.

I know I weigh more than people realize, which is one reason I get told that I shouldn't lose more weight.

At my current weight, I am wearing medium shirts and size 10 jeans. My inches are 36-31-44. Is it any surprise that I carry my weight in my hips/thigh area?

When I started this journey, I thought my goal weight might be 140, but I quickly changed my mind. I've since realized that I don't know exactly what my "ultimate" goal will be. I know I am close. I know that even though I don't feel I'm done, I am very happy where I am at.

My current goal is to get into a normal BMI with wiggle room, which would be 155 pounds. I am not sure if I will actually stay there since I noticed wrinkles on belly as my weight dipped below 180 pounds. But I won't know unless I try it, so I am still working on losing more.

I log my food daily, I weigh several times a week, and I exercise several times a week (most weeks). This can't change if I want to keep from gaining weight.

I decided imma let my sleeve take me where it's gone take me and continue to follow my life style change I don't I want to get done to normal Bmi range do to the fact I don't believe in it cause it's not accurate considering height , weight, bone structure and age play a role in what I should weigh and the Bmi chart does not consider those facts but thanks everyone for there advice and its greatly appreciated

People are uncomfortable when your looks change drastically and it seems so sudden. There also might be a shade of jealousy or guilt at their own weight. It will take a while for you to look normal to them again. Work with your medical team to decide your goals.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
