I was very happy with my loss until today!!

Summer is here and i admit that i want to show off my body when i am with friends at the beach, i havent noticed how much loose skin i have until i tried a bikini on... OMG what an emotional wreck i was! I hate my body, I hate being 70 pounds less... I hate my body, I want to be back where i was all tight and smooth looking. No 20 year old body should look like this.

The scenario i have in mind:

Friend of friend: Oh hi, nice to finally meet you... So tell me about you, how many children do you have? children can ruin your body but they are worth it right?

ME: UMMMM... YEA, I HAVE NEVER BEEN PREGNANT BUT I HAD 3 BABIES WORTH OF FAT IN ME.

all i can do is cry and i want to burry myself in the ground... i feel sorry for my husband for having to look at me naked. (he says i look good and i was never fat to begin with... but who is he kidding??? i have eyes too )

So sorry you feel this way. But really...no 20 year old should be 230lbs either. Is there nothing you can do now that you couldn't do when you were heavier? Do you not feel better? Are you not able to move better or feel lighter? And if you wore a bikini at 230, I'm certain you were one of those gals who folks looked at and said "naw she didn't...someone tell her she doesn't look good in that". Sorry, I've never seen someone over 200lbs look "good" in a bikini.

What you are talking about is vanity.... it's not about your health. Plastic surgery can take care of the lose skin. I just find it hard to believe you'd rather be fat, than be healthy and not be able to wear a bikini

Here's the deal..every bad decision has consequences. The consequence of being obese is the fact you have more skin...and once you lose the weight, you have loose skin. It's just a "fact jack".

So stop wishing you were fat again, and find you a nice slimming/sexy one piece. Ain't a dang thing wrong with a one piece. Or...find you a good plastic surgeon ;)

Chin up! It's not that bad...

Ditto to Rebecca_dsu! I will admit there were times that I felt the same way as you do MrsSaso. I am almost 50 years old and still wear a bikini. When I was fat I wore a bikini too and for awhile I thought that I looked better in a bikini at 230 lbs than I do at 152 lbs. Then one day I took pictures of myself, after I had lost some weight, and realized that even with the extra loose skin I still looked a WHOLE LOT better then I ever did when I was fat! I have recently had a TT and am very glad I did. You are just going through a little phase of "buyers remorse". You should go shopping and try on different bathing suits. You will find one that hides the skin. Perhaps you should consider a TT and if you can't take the time off or afford it then at least work towards it and someday you won't have to "accommodate" the loose skin. Remember where you came from. Do a reality check in the mirror from time to time. Look at pre -weight loss pictures to remind yourself of where you've been and how much better you look now. The main point here is this is just a phase you are going through and many of us that have had a VSG have experienced the same feelings. It will pass...

so get a one piece swim suit, they have lots of them that help hold things in and make you look firmer. You can still show off your great new body and at the same time not feel like a flabby sack. You are having a bad day, we all do. But i have to agree with the other poster, don't you feel better? You are healthier, and also being so young, some of your skin will probably shrink up yet. And think of it this way, when you do eventually have babies, you wont have to worry about stretch marks! I know that may seem like a small consolation but trust me when the time comes, you'll be grateful! Keep your chin up and focus on the good things!!

You are 20!! Your skin could still bounce back somewhat! It's just gotta catch up with your weight loss. It's only 1 summer out of many more, rock a one piece and forget about it. By next summer maybe your skin will have caught up, if not maybe some plastic surgery a few months before swimsuit season and you can go back to rockin the bikini again. :)

Thank you all for the replies, it feels good to vent and have someone tell you you are wrong about your feeling... All of you are right, maybe if my skin didnt tighten up, i might have TT after my first baby. And ill go buy a one piece for this summer and try to feel good in it. Yesterday was so depressing and the mixed feelings are part of my aunt flo package lmao!

Thank you for taking time to reply, i sure feel better after reading ur comments... all of you are right and i was wrong to let something like that get to me. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
