So I am on my two week pre op diet...and I have not cheated once and I'm on day 8...I have to drink 3 Protein Drinks a day along with cream of chicken sugar free pudding etc.... So the directions for the Protein Shake says 1 scoop per 8 ounces... And I just realized a scoop is only a half of a scoop... :(

I was wondering if anyone else has done that and what they think my surgery is April 30th and I have been through hell for a year with this and would be really sad if they wouldn't do surgery because of this.

Your fine.. its all about shrinking the liver. I had my surgery Jan. 31st I did cheat a few times on pre-op very difficult. Congratulations on making it to day 8.. keep up the good work. It will all be so worth it.

Ok, cream of chicken sugar free pudding, sounds gross! ;)

The scoop issue probably isn't going to be an issue.

I like that you are concerned about following instruction to the letter. That is a good sign, you have a good attitude.

You will be fine and if you keep up the same diligence you will succeed.

For the Unjury protein... The instructions said use 1 scoop for 8 ounces of milk... I just thought that was an awful big scoop so I looked at the facts and it said 1 scoop was 27 grams which is only 1 ounce of powder which would only be half of a scoop...

1 scoop is 1 scoop if you are using the scoop that comes in container. I have a feeling you are mixing an oz of weight & an oz of volume. They are not interchangeable.

So you are saying the scoop in the container that it came with i fill it all the way I'm not sure what I did it just seemed like a lot.. I took a measuring cup and measured it in it was 3 ounces

Yes, the scoop that was in the container is the proper measurement. A measuring cup measures volume, the Protein powder is measured by weight. If weighed 1full scoop on a scale you would get 27grams. Keep in mind you'll need to subtract the weight of the scoop itself (I'm guessing the scoop is about 7-10g).

My surgeon doesn't even make u do the preop diet. Like others said to shrink the liver but its so the tools used in surgery can move it out of the way to get to ur stomach. If too heavy/fatty u might have to be opened up, larger incision & recovery time. This rarely happens with my surgeon and the cases it did were the grossly obese >500 lbs. I think ur good & def attentive to detail which will be of great importance after!!!!! Gluck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
