I'm two months out tomorrow and today I just couldn't shake this feeling of overwhelming sadness.

I'm down 40lbs and 6 away from onederland. I am so pumped about that!! I look at my wedding dress that I'll be wearing in October and I smile.

But this feeling of sadness just won't go away. I'm on Zoloft since depression goes hand in hand with ms. I don't have any major issues in my life right now. I just don't get why I'm feeling so sad...

Had to get it out there so I'm not dwelling on it.

Large amounts of weight loss can definitely impact hormonal balance. My guess is that you're just experiencing the mood swings that can accompany the imbalance while your body adjusts. It doesn't make it any less uncomfortable, but it is sometimes a little reassuring to know what's going on.

It might be a good idea to check in with your doctor just in case, though.

Good luck!

Thank you. I am watching and if the funk gets any deeper or doesn't look like it is easing up I will be calling the doc.

What's crazy in pre op that was almost exactly what I would say to someone.

I don't get where the voice of reason drops off between pre op and post op.

oh CRAP!!! Maybe that's what's in the part of the tummy they remove!!!

My lame attempt at humor.

I was crying yesterday - off an on all day (3 months out). Ok, so maybe its hormones and such. good to know. But I realized I was grieving the loss of my dad from over a year ago. I can't emotionally eat or distract myself with food anymore so here I am, smaller, with the same issues, but now I have to deal with them. Do you have unresolved issues coming up??

That's because now you are living on the other side of the sleeve and going thru it! :) I really think it's normal and a lot of post op ppl experience this. I had an "off" week around 2 months out. It passed but I just felt really sad and depressed andmy weight loss and life in general were doing great! I would say that if you keep feeling this way for a period of time or it starts affecting your life to see a dr. But to have days like this is normal.

Thank God I'm not alone. I was feeling sad about 3 weeks after my surgery. I would start crying for no reason but it went away. Now that I had my 2 month surgiversary I started feeling sad and blue again. Since Sunday I have been sad, mad, and just generally feeling depressed. It has gotten better but I still don't feel like myself.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
