Wow that's insane!!! Mine took 1.5 hours start to finish. That's from the moment they wheeled me back to the time the doc went out and talked to my hubby. And I had a hernia repaired which added about 20 extra mins.

I'm getting sleeved 5/2. My surgeon said it would only be about an hour and a half.

Mine was 1 to 1 1/2 hrs surgery time alone. Maybe they are counting the 2hrs you have to be at the hospital pre op and the 1 to 1 1/2 hr recovery room time, that would total 5 hrs.

1 1/2 for me...walk, walk, and walk some more...make yourself - it helps with the pain!

45 minutes for me... I had a lot of room inside my abdomen with a normal liver and very little visceral fat for someone of my size so the doctor could get in and out pretty quickly. Also the team that took care of me has been working with each other for a few years and have done a few thousand procedures together so they've got a pretty good rhythm going!

Mine also took about 1 1/2 hours. And I will tell you that I was up and walking the halls of the hospital 4 hours after surgery. They came in every 3 hours and walked me. I went home at 10:00 the next morning and every day for the next week my husband and I went somewhere (a shopping mall, the strand at Galveston Beach or just shopping) and I walked for a solid 2 hours each day. I never had problems with gas and have had a very easy road even considering that I lost my Mom 3 weeks after surgery.

I just had my surgery last week and it was 1 1/2 hrs. Maybe your dr meant from checking time at the hospital to end of surgery. I checked in at 6:00, had surgery at 9:00 and was in recovery at 10:30.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
