Bubbles stuck in my throat sensation?

Recommended Posts

I have been whining a lot lately so thanks for listening to me...

I am almost 7 weeks post-surgery. Everything has been great, except my transition to real food which has been really difficult and this feeling like I have a bubble stuck in my throat or like I need to burp or like food is coming up.

I am on Nexium and have been thoroughly checked out by GI doctor. He wants me to see ENT. I think it will be a waste of time but am scheduled tomorrow anyway.

My latest thinking is that it is gas rising up my throat and stuck. I got a bunch of gasx and having been taking 250mg for the past 2 days. No change. If I force a burp, it feels slightly better for only a second. If I drink or eat, it feels better briefly. But it is there all the time and very annoying.

Anyone have this experience?

I have the same exact thing going on.. It's the only real annoyance that I have to deal with. If you happen to find a remedy please let me know.

I've had that problem for years...I always felt like i swallowed a rock or wad of gum. It always surfaces at this time of year. My GI doc finally linked it to my seasonal allergies. If you have allergies, get on your meds right away! I started in with it a couple of days ago. Got back on my Zyrtec and much better within 2 days. Just a thought...

I think what your describing is what we call foaming. It's. normal and as your tummy heals it gets better. Usually if you eat too fast or portion too big. We all do it.

I'm doing the same thing, it's uncomfortable but not pain full. Just enough to aggravate you.

I stay that way the whole day, it's not just when I eat. It feels like a big lump in my throat.

I have this. When I open my mouth you can hear them snap crackle popping. This only ever happened to me previously with champagne and no I haven't had any carbonation- just some serious bubble throat. It isn't foaming or eating too much or fasy either. Its weird.

Yea, mine isn't related to eating either.. it's pretty much all day. I also have zero allergies.. and it only started post surgery.. like I said.. it's only a minor annoyance but if there was a remedy I'd be all ears :)

It is strange and frustrating. My surgeon, won't take any responsibility. Tells me to see GI. GI, did endoscopy and scan of abdomen, says that all he can do. Then says I should see ENT (tomorrow), but I know that is going to be a waste. All very annoying.

Thanks for the support.

I never go anywhere without a small bottle of papaya enzyme tablets. Chew 3 or 4 when you get that feeling and it soon subsides. Works great helping digest food.< /p>

I had this feeling the first couple of weeks out...then, it lessened. It still happens if I eat or drink too quickly. Walking helps it ease off, or at least it did for me. Hope you feel better!

i get it too, all the time, a few sips of diet coke helps me, but if you take too many sips it makes it worse, hot liquids helps some good luck

I am 3 months out and I still get it ! It feels like a big air bubble that has to come up but can't. It is painful and frustrating. If I'm eating at the time then I stop for a couple minutes...it subsides momentarily but thats it. I am usually uncomfortable for up to a couple of hours after. It feels like I need to belch...I'm not now nor have I ever been a belcher but it feels like that is what has to happen in order to relieve the pressure. Sometimes if I can a burp up, a little bit of vomit comes up too... Tmi ? sorry just being honest. I feel your pain RichardVST and I also agree that an ENT isn't going to help... but hey you never know. Let me know what happens !! You can pm me if you like :) Cheers

I stopped taking prilosec otc and a week later I started with all the gurgles even when I drink. I felt nauseated and got the stuck in the throat feeling. I bought some more prilosec again last night, took it and felt so so much better. I guess this is somthing I will have to deal with now. I nvr had this problem before surgery. I'm 4mths po. I didn't want to to be dependent on any medicine, but maybe I will be now. Does anyone know of a natural remedy?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
