Re: heartburn

Try 1/8 teaspoon baking soda in a glass of Water. If you can taste it, use less. Baking soda works great for relieving heart burn/ acid reflux issues! I use the aluminum free baking soda.

If you can get your food intake along a more alkaline diet you may experience less heartburn.

Also, tuna is good in small quantities, not completely off limits.

I am 19 mos PO GS and just found out I'm pregnant this wknd! This was planned, as my surgeon suggests waiting 18 mos before trying to get pregnant.

I've been starting my day with a tonic of fresh grated (frozen) ginger steeped in 1 cup of hot Water. Add in the juice of one lemon and 1-2 spoonfuls of local unfiltered honey. Started alkalizing my diet in preparation for conception. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy since I lost so much weight before hand!

I'm 9.5 mos out from surgery and am 9 wks pregnant. I see a prenatal dietician that works closely with my obgyn and my primary dr and also my surgeon is doing follow ups also. I was worried about not in taking enough but she assured me baby will get what it needs just have to have labs more often and keep myself healthy. They did increase my calories from 750 per day to 1000 cals a day. She told me to do my best and I will have a healthy pregnancy.

Thank you so much! I feel better now. I had my first prenatal appt today which went well. I meet with my bariatric surgeon and the dietician next week so my nutritional intake and absorbs toon levels can be monitored.

I'm so thankful to read other post about pregnancy... I'm 6 mos. Post op and 15 weeks preggo. I have lost 15 lbs since finding out I was pregnant. I was very concerned with getting enough nutrition for the baby, but my appetite has increased a lot in the past few weeks. Everything is looking good and baby is healthy. Please continue to share your experiences, I love hearing about them. Congrats to you on your pregnancy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
