Crystal light has a sweet tea that is decaffinated and is delicious...I also am addicted. Sometimes I add some SF lemonade to it as well... Not so naughty.

I'm naughty too. I hate Water most of the time. I love tea. I drink it without guilt and even use real sugar. I'm not gonna give it up either. I already gave up eating like a normal person and I've no intention of giving up anything else. Oh - and sometimes I eat a couple Oreos or a Reeses Peanut Butter cup. Gonna try to keep those at a minimum:)

As much as I try to support everyone on here....all I can say is you are setting yourself up for failure if you think this is ok. I am saying this only if you have not had surgery yet or if you are just minimal weeks out. I can see someone 1plus years po doing this but newbies need to know this is not ok.

Oh I don't know - does Newbie translate to unintelligent? Thanks so much for the scolding. It's always great for someone to hear how they set themselves up for failure. I guess it's a good thing that at nearly 47 years old I am confident in my decisions and will continue to make them as I see fit. I just reply honestly on this forum, which is what people want when they ask a question.

Not agruing, I understand what you are saying and I was not trying to scold you. I apologize if it was interpretated that way. My point was only that new patients have to be very careful with sugar. I mean thats what got most of us here in the first place in my opinion. I always appreciate honest feedback but this is the only place some people get support so we have to inform positively and honestly so we can all succeed.

Your fine and honesty is appreciated. Everyone has to make "their" own decisions and your doing great! :)

I have to say this...I have worked in the medical field for 13 years and have treated a variety of patients. Just as a patient dying of lung cancer that still smokes, I know what I must do. I realize that habits HAVE to be altered and adhere to a "new" lifestyle but in saying that I believe that everyone may work out their own health care and adapt it to their own addictions just like the lung cancer pt that can't quit smoking. In the end it's "their" decision right or wrong. I appreciate everyone's honesty and all the comments but in the end we are all trying to make the same journey, what works for one sometimes will not work for another. :)

I'm with you! Instead of the 80/20 rule, I do. 90/10 rule...eat healthy 90% of the time, indulge 10% of the time. It helps me keep me sanity and makes me feel like this whole thing isn't a major mistake.

I like Decaf iced tea sweetened with Splenda w/ Fiber. Fiber is sorely lacking and hard to come by with high protein/low carb diets. Especially when you're still on mushies and blended.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
