Hello,

My Name is Jessica I am 27 years old and I currently weigh 278 height 5'5 1/2. My surgery date is may 6th and I'm so EXCITED!!! My goals for my life style change and journey is to for one loose at least 80 lbs by September for my husband and I wedding Anniversary were wanting to go to a romantic hotel suite. Second goal is to feel better about my self and be able to enjoy my sons rodeo's and not focusing on what I look like. If anyone has any helpful tips to give me for pre op , day of surgery and few days after I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome, Jessica! I'm pre-op, too, but I can tell you there's TONS of information here. Look around, there are threads specifically addressing what to take to the hospital, the first few post-op stages, protein-boosting ideas, etc. You name the sleeve question, you can probably between 1 and 437 answers here. :)

Welcome! My surgery was on Feb. 28th so I'm 6 weeks post op and have lost 37 lbs (which includes the pre-op diet stage). You have a lot going for you that will help you succeed. You are young, and have a good support system. I would caution you though to not expect to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain time (for you wedding). While it's good to have a goal to strive for it can also be a set up for disappointment if you don't reach that goal in the time that you want. Everyone's experience with this surgery is different and your experience will be unique to you. Just try to follow your Dr.'s pre-op and post-op instructions as carefully as you can. I think you will be very happy with your choice in the ling run. I wish surgery had been available when I was your age! Although I probably wouldn't have been brave enough to do it then! Blessings to you!

That's about a half pound per day, keep that up and you will lose over 150 lbs this year!! Just sayin'.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
