Started excerscising and feeling hungry :(

Recommended Posts

Hi all ... I am a almost 6 weeks post op and I started working out like 30 min on the elliptical 4 days a week.... I seem to be getting hungry more often though . Is this normal ? On work out days , after a workout ... I can feel like I need some food after about 11/2 hours . I am worried sow will call it grazing but as a rule I try to eat every 2-3 hours and I take in 850 - 1000 cal a day and burn about 250-350 cal a day for now. Am I on the right track . Is it normal for me to feel a little bit hungrier ? Please feedback if you would :)

I don't know how normal it is but I'm 4 mos post-op and I get hungry after working out too. I usually do a cheese stick or greek yogurt after a workout. That seems to help and I'm still keeping my calorie intake to around 1000 Cal a day and Protein is between 55 and 65 grams.

Yes, your body needs fuel to repair muscle tissues and replenish the energy you burned. You can google low carb post workout Snacks for ideas, and they are all based around Protein good carbs. shakes, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, baby bell light, hummus or something along those lines. I haven't ventured into Protein Bars, because I don't trust my self control yet. Whatever you choose, just make sure to stay hydrated and budget for your post workout snack! It will help prevent muscle loss :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
