Dr Ramos Kelly vs Dr Garcia, in Tijuana?

Recommended Posts

I used Dr. Garcia but it was not a revision. I searched Dr. Kelly's name and there were too many mixed reviews on him for me to feel good about using him. I didn't really see anything negative on Dr. F. Garcia so that's why I felt better about him.

After a deep research I decide to go with Dr. Kelly because he's recognized internationally as one of the best doctors. Although he has lot of negative publicity I decide to believe reliable media not rumors. Anyways I would definitively recommend  Dr. Kelly which he and his staff made me feel part of family.

I'm having a revision with Dr. Garcia on March 8th. Can you help me with hospital post-op care. Do they use pressure stockings during surgery? Do they provide no-skid socks? Were you cold or hot? Do they staple or glue you? What was in the kit they give you while your there and while your leaving? Is there anything you recommend to make the visit go smoother, heating blanket or heating pad? Personal blanket or pillow? Oh ya, did you have a drain or catheter? How was your pain?

I had Dr. Garcia but not a revision. Anyway it was last June and they staple you and they do give you a kit of meds and bandages when you leave. They also gave me some support stockings to leave with but I can't remember about if they used them during surgery. I don't remember about socks either lol. I was hot the first night there and they opened the windows for me. Was much better then. I was in a lot of pain the first 2 days and threw up blood the first day. I didn't use a heating pad but did take gas x strips. I did have a drain which they removed on the 3rd day. Felt very weird removing but felt so much better after. No catheter.

I'm a slow loser though (my fault for not eating Protein first and eating some junk). Only lost 82 pounds so far and June 18th will be a year for me. I want to lose 100 pounds so I'm close.

With Dr.Garcia, they give you an unopened brand new pack of thigh high compression stockings to put on along with your robe and also brand new slippers. That was the first they gave me when I got to my room. I took the compression stockings with me when I was discharged from the hospital and washed them and wore them on the flight home. (I took a picture as I was waiting for my surgery. I traveled alone so I was trying to pass the time.)

I felt pain as I was being awakened from surgery (mostly gas pain in left shoulder) but after they gave me some meds, I was fine. I did puke up some blood (not alot, like tbsp full) right after surgery but thanks to @@Holly Martin 79, she said to expect that.

I have surgery scheduled with dr kelly in two weeks, but I am having second thoughts. I have read some negative comments on several threads. Some suggest he doesn't even do the surgeries. However his credentials seem superior to any other surgeon. Please share your experiences. Thanks

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
