Multi-vitamin- I actually chose Bariatric Advantage capsules because they can be divided into several servings throughout the day and they don't have Iron to interfere with calcium absorption.. but my doc said any good multi Vitamin will do. He said he likes Centrum.

Iron- He told me to take 18 mg of iron daily until I'm back to eating a well rounded diet... then keep close watch on it with my PCP and I shouldn't take the iron pill unless I need it.

calcium citrate with D-3 He advises 1000-1500 mg of calcium citrate per day for women

sublingual b-12 - Doc says this is another one that may not be necessary, and that I should take it for now, but my PCP should check my levels too.

I take a chewable from cvs vitamin B1 is a big deal otherwise none as thiamin a deficiency can cause seizures and other craziness I also take calcium gummies cvs and a sublingual B12. I feel I'm not having any hair trouble yet.

Sleeved Jan. 14, 2013

I take:

1. B12 sublingual

2. Opurity Multivitamin (Made for Bypass & Sleeve patients from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. A little more expensive then other Multivitamins, but I only have to take it once p/day).

3. Biotin 5000 mcg twice p/day

4. Caltrate: Calcium & Vitamin D, soft chews (vanilla)

5. I'm taking Melatonin at night before bed too because I've been having trouble falling asleep since I was sleeved.

Bariatric Fusion is what my doc and nut recommend for the patient in the practice I go to. They are chewable and don't taste bad. I have to chew 3 a day which is fine with me:)

Can someone recommend where to get the Biotin in sublingual form? I also need it in the B complex. My pill crushing is horrible...tastes and smells horrible. However my NUT recommends 100mg of Thiamine in it...the b complex.

Does the Biotin help with hair? I heard a lot of people lose hair I'm terrified cause I have super log hair and if I lose it I will be devastated !!

Yes I am 7 months into my surgery and I had long hair and cut it right after since I was losing a lot of hair I wash my hair twice a week because I lose my hair I heard from a friend that her surgery 2 years ago that the first year you lose a lot and then it should stop and start growing the hair back I am hoping this happens to me since I am also scared that I will not have enough hair later on I do take biotin to help but haven't seen that it helps much hoping after the year my hair doesn't fall as much as it does now

Well, I have super thin hair already...so if I lose much more hair people are going to start thinking I'm sick! I am a little sad but with the chop I can donate my braid to locks for love and the new cut makes me look thinner and my hair look a little thicker! Lol. Sometimes you just have to look at the positive!
