3 weeks out and new pain at main extraction point

Recommended Posts

As of today i am 3 weeks post op and aside from the general pain and discomfort of surgery i haven't had any problems. All my incisions are healing beautifully and the doctor was very pleased with my recovery. But today i've noticed that slightly above and behind the extraction site, i have pain when i bend down and if i gently press there it is quite firm and it hurts. I've searched the site to see if i could find anything but didn't come across anything that really fit what i'm having. So i was wondering if anyone has any ideas or has experienced this as well. OH and I had my gall bladder removed months ago, so no possibility it's that.

Sounds like you're healing it's normal for it to still be swollen and hard at the surgery site. If it becomes red or hot to the touch then you should worry..

I'm 3 weeks out also and have had pain at the site starting at 2 weeks out. At my 2 week post-op appointment my Doc said its normal I may have overdone it and could hurt for up to 6 weeks. Its gotten better but still hurts. good luck...

Thanks for the responses, and i think you are right, it probably is from over doing it. I've been feeling so much better lately that I've been cleaning like mad, and lots of bending, which has probably irritated it. I'll try to lay of the bending for a few days and see if that helps any.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
