band loosened and oh what a thrill

Recommended Posts

Dishdiva,

did you see Dr. Ponce? ? that is who I go to. He is a really great doctor. I have not met the others, I am sure they are good too.

Yes, the doctor was really suprised when my husband's band went back to normal. I doubt that happens very often. He still has to go back next month and have a second check up. He really wants a fill. He has gained 20 pounds. Of course, he can lose 20 pounds within a month. That stinks lol. It has taken me almost a year to lose 50 lol

Denise, that is so great that your husbands slip went back, he is lucky!....My doc says it doesnt usually happen.....

Did his doc tell him how severe the slippage was?...Did he say it was "slight"???....Or more pronounced? Just wondering....thanks.:phanvan

Unfortunately, I don't know the severity of his slippage. I know when he had the slippage, he couldn't keep anything down. It wasn't the "stuck" feeling we normally get. He would eat at 6p and end up having to throw up that food around 3am. Nothing would digest. He couldn't even keep down Water.

Also, something that was weird. If say, he drank tea, when he threw up, it was as if it would separate. (water, tea, sugar) He also had severe heartburn all the time. The doctor said, more then likely the slippage was from throwing up (which he was doing several times a day) They were able to see the slippage from the front view on the barium test. He had his band almost completely loosened for about a month 1/2 When that happened after a couple of days, he could eat almost anything. When he went back to the doctor, they were sure that it wouldn't have improved since I believe 80% of slippages need resurgery. All I can say, it must have been a miracle

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
