So my cousin, aunt, and I had a girl's night out last night and went to L'auberge casino in Baton Rouge. I got carded and the guy almost didn't let me in. He kept looking at my license and back at me. I finally had to say I had weight loss surgery in June! Just thought I'd share this amusing, yet awesome story. And just for comparison, here is my license pic and me now...

Yep, you definitely look cardable if that's a word, lol

It is now! LoL!!!

Millie, I just realized your surgery is today. Keep us posted!

Hi Louisiana Friends- I had surgery on Tues. and got home last night. All went well and I'm steady sippin. It almost didn't happen. The day before, my surgeon, Dr. Lavin, had to leave town with emergency; they were going to reschedule following week. My parents had already made a trip to stay with me and my girls for the week. After freakin' for a moment I asked if another doctor was available. Luckily, Dr. Clark Warden could and he proved to be a wonderful doc!

I ended up having two hernias repaired as well as my sleeve. Yesterday, the worst pain was the gas or leftover air around your chest and arms. The gas drops help a little, but truly getting up and walking the halls helped the most. My 1st night was restless and I had a little anxiety, but have improved today. Have been taking it easy and using my fitness pal app to keep track of my liquid intake. Don't feel hungary, but do miss tasting what my family's been eating. Just trying to follow everything as I'm told.

Good luck to those gearing up for their big day!

Hi! I'm in Baton Rouge. I had the sleeve done on 2/7 by Dr. Jonathan Taylor. He's awesome. I'm tolerating everything very well!

Slidell sleeved 2/5 by Dr Lavin. Back to work tomorrow :(

Anyone know of good plastic surgeon for tummy tuck in baton rouge area?

Hi All- I'm from NOLA! In my 5th week post surgery and doing well. Still figuring it all out. Big change, but glad I did it. Not sure about tummy tuck docs- I'll probably need that down the road. How's everyone adjusting??

Doesn' t seem like too many from Louisiana- some are better than none!

I have to drink 8oz of water with my thyroid medicine in the morning so I wonder how that will work if I can only take baby sips?

Anyone know?

Just do the best you can. I'm on synthroid also.

I'm from lake Charles. Had my surgery April 29 in Houston dr holder-Haynes. I'm 4 weeks out & just now tolerating soft foods. I had severe nausea starting the 2nd week. It was rough I didn't think It would ever pass.

@@lsuchick4, Dr. Taylor is my surgeon as well. He is so cool. I had my first appointment with him yesterday.

Lafayette here...hw 349. Sw 301 today still 202 ..June 18th makes my year...doing pretty good

I ate a whole crab last weekend at about 3 1/2 weeks post op. It was nice to feel "normal" and eat what everyone else was eating.

The acid reflux is KILLING me. Especially at night. I'm taking Omeprazole in the morning, and Maalox at night. I have to fall asleep sitting up, and I can hear the acid sizzling in the back of my throat. It feels like something is stuck in my throat...terrible.

I was sleeved in New Iberia, but I live in New Orleans. Are there open support groups anywhere?

Hi Dr Borland?!? I' m set for surgey with him would like some feedback if possible?!?
